Many people think the desert is a desolate baron wasteland, but actually it is quite active and crawling with all kinds of critters. There are birds and other small animals that scavange on dead meat. There are lots of bugs, beetles, scorpions, etc.. that eat corpses. There is even bacteria that breaks down stuff as well. LIfe is everywhere if you look for it.

Scorpions, ants, flies, etc... Generally anything that is tiny (like an insect, spider, etc...) and still an animal is a decomposer. If it poops smaller than you can see it is a decomposer.
