With yellow and white being your colors there is one very logical "theme" for your reception - daisys. For table centerpieces you could have daisy votive floating candles (floating on water) in a brandy glass (or vase) - they have guest books, pens, champagne flutes, etc. in the daisy theme.

Best wishes

I think a lot of candles. Floating or stationary. Also, when it comes to flowers make sure you have them at different heights to show more interest. I think the best types of flowers are lilies with a few white roses added into the bunch. Maybe some white Christmas lights. Another thing you could do is garland that has the lights already in it. You could bring your yellow in with the candles and/or ribbons. If you want to get some other ideas watch "Whose Wedding is it Anyway" on the Style Network or other shows like that. You might get some good ideas from that, I know I did.

How about using some spring wedding colors like a soft lavender, cream, and silver. As far as the flowers, you can use an array of spring flowes. At the reception, the table could be covered in cream tableclothes. The centerpieces could be very simple, yet elegant. Get some wine glasses and cluster three to a table, fill each glass with about 3/4 of water and then place a floating candle in the center. You can go to the website candlesjustonline.com. My husband and I used this site to set all of our candles for our wedding. The company has several sizes and colors to choose from. You could choose a lavender color as well as a cream color, and have some table with one color and some with the other, and you could also have both colors on the tables. For the food tables, you can have the wedding cake on a table alone. On the weddong cake table you could put some cream cloth that pools to the floor, and a lavender cloth on the top of the table for the cake to sit on. You could also put some mints on the cake tabe as well as some momagramed napkins. For the other food you plan on having set up a couple long tables with a lavender table cloth that have a lace overlay.. In the center of the table put an arrangement, and you can also put some more floating candles on the table. For the grooms table I would a cream colored table cloth with his cake and some nuts and mints. You can also have a table for your gifts that is decorated in the same color theme.

we're planning our wedding from scratch as well. the place we're getting married at has a gazebo outside which we'll use and the reception would be right inside. we're getting married in arpil 07. april is close to spring so we decided to use color(s) that will help bring out that season and compliment it in a way.

take a look at what you have to work with at the place of your reception and take a moment to imagine how it would possibly look like during then. look at the chairs to the tables, to the walls, to the table where you will be sitting at. try to incorporate your colors in it and see what other colors might help bring out the yellow.

then look at different wedding mag and tear off every page that is close to your color(s) and once you have those pages, come up some different colors. maybe you could use that mixture of colors for your bouquet or your centerpiece on the tables. maybe you could use white table covers and white seat covers with yellow and pink lace wrapping around the chair into a bow. use the colors with your bridesmaids too. its okay to repeat the color with anything you want. this is your wedding. make it the way you want and the way you think is best.

congrats! have fun...

Yellow roses are always nice. One of my favorite flowers. I went to a wedding not too long ago, and they had beautiful table decorations. She had a very tall, skinny vase with long stem flowers, sitting on a mirror. She had several little votive candles on and around the mirror. Then, she tied a simple ribbon towards the top of the vase. She had clean white table linens, with a runner of green, and the center piece in the middle. You could use yellow as the runner, and kind of place it on there, not straight across. Oh, for candies you can get M&Ms personalized. There is some way to get any message put on M&Ms, and you could get the bride and groom's name or your oun little message. And, you could order them in yellow white and pink! I love this kind of thing! Let me know if you need any other ideas!

It really depends
Do you have a theme?
if Your theme is "Valentine's"
then you should try to go with things that you normally would
for valentines i.e hear candy spread on tabletops, A vase of Shocking & Robina lillies (Yellow -w- red fushia throats and a deep pink coloration) on table tops.
Try avoiding the typical white linen (it will be overpowering with the yellow already in theme) find a baby blue or lilac linen.
www.brides.com
www.theknot.com
are two of the best sites.
then you can do an "ask jeeves" or google search for
help on themes if you don't have one.

Good Luck!
Congratulations!

I think catalalilies or Gardenia would be beautiful. All over the place, they smell like heaven so you get 2 in 1 with the pretty flowers and the wonderful scent.
Also Lots of glass ie; vases, bowls, Large Brandy Glasses. You can even use crystal cake pedestals and flip them upside down and put votives floating in it with Gardenia all around the base. Jasmin also has those colors and smell great.

this is the best site ever www.theknot.com i used it for pretty much everything.

February is the month of love, so your place cards could be yellow with white boarder and the persons name in pink or white and they can be help by heart shaped place card holders. your center pieces can be pink, white and yellow roses with litle cupids hanging on a fishing line from some of the roses or sticking out slightly above the roses. your favors can be heart shaped candy, hershey kisses in a yellow, pink or white box with a little thank you note "some kisses fro the new mr. and mrs." good luck and don't stress out. everything will work out

For flowers think about "Moonlight Santona Lilies" yyou could also do "Tulips" they are beautiful I like roses to but I did not have roses at my wedding because everyone does roses. May be hang some white Christmas type lights the. It is all about what you like.
Go look at some magazines and see what catches your because this day is all about you and you want it your way!

I would go with calla lillys for flowers or oriental lillys
They are simple and you wouldn't need that many
For my wedding for centerpiences we
bought huricanne candle holders from ac moore craft store we bought about 20 so we got a discount they came out to be about $5 a peice plus the canlde to go inside $2 and then around it we used wet moss and poked roses lillys, greens and babysbreath around the base it looked amazing. We bought all of our flowers at Price Chopper our local grocery store which saved us a ton of money
