Or do 20 somethings even care about church or spiritual matters?

I'm in the middle of a GREAT book about this topic. It's called "Dear Church." It's a series of letters about how 20-somethings are disillusioned with the church.
It's not that we don't care about spiritual matters; most of us care a lot. It's that we see churches as an institution of hypocrisy and rules, not as a genuine place of worship and acceptance. Many of us have been hurt by the church, and are trying to heal. We spend a lot of time trying to reconcile what we see with what we hear about "religion."

This is so typicle of this era. Trying to fit religion in a consumer orientation. Doing this is like fast food, you get what you want when you want it and how. This is not The WAy. The minute you try to fit it into what you want, no longer are you worshipping God, but worshipping your own desires. So many times we have in our head what we think God is, but what God is may have nothing to do with our idea of Him. So, we have to worship God on His terms, not ours, or otherwise we aren't worshipping God at all, but deluding ourselves that we are....by the way, an extremely dangerous thing to do.

I would imagine Twentysomethings would like to worship God just like everyone else.

Now that I have expressed the problem...do I have a solution? Go to the beginning, and find out how and what the Original Apostles taught. You can find the book, The Apostolic Fathers, and see for yourself. Only a few churches that exist can actually trace themselves unbroken to Apostolic Succession. My church the Antiochian Eastern Orthodox Church is one of them. There is also the Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Servbian Orthodox, and Jerusalem Orthodox, by the way, most churches in Jerusalem are infact, Eastern Orthodox. There are many more churches who are a part of Orthodoxy that are not listed here.

It is the true faith. That said, do we believe anyone outside of that faith is not saved...we don't know, and God is merciful, and most likely they are close to God also, going on what they have recieved. But, the Eastern Orthodox is the Original Church that Christ started, so it is a blessing to be able to participate in the fullness of what God has established.

Jesus Christ said that the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church He established. If you believe that something was lost, or had to be remade, you are under a delusion. What was established is still existing now. If you want truth, it is here.

They want beer instead of wine for the blood of christ. Each person should get a keg! An 18 something nun should ask questions about the bible and strips a piece of clothing for each correct answer! Presto, you have a popular church!

20 somethings want a church service that does not smack of hypocrisy, delusion or fraud. Except the neocons, they crave those things.

Something I can truly understand. Something I can experience. Something that isn't fake or sugarcoated. I want something real and genuine. Something that asks me to challenge myself, and my 'beliefs.' Something that is tried and true. Something that tells you to look at your own self and your spirituality, not blindly following the crowd, and the pastor, priest, rabbi, imam, etc.

Interesting question to ask.
God promises to supply all of the needs of His children.
He does NOT promise to supply all of their wants.

Maybe what they want is not what they need.

(And yes, that's typical for all of us.)
