I really hope that I get some mature answers on this question instead of people that are only out to hate....
If we truly can not help who we fall in love with, then wouldn't this apply to an american citizen that has fallen in love with an illegal? Is a US citizen the most horrible person in the world to have fallen in love with someone that came into their country illegally? Or are they merely human? Finding love in the most unexpected of people?

An illegal can not marry someone just to get a greencard if he is already here illegally. It doesn't work like that. Unless you overextend your time on your visa, that is an exception, but if you snuck across the border, and married someone here, you CANNOT get a greencard. So this proves the theory that they are only marrying you for this purpose to be a moot point don't you think???? It used to be true that you could just marry a us citizen and become legal but they got rid of that a few years back.

No i did not expect to hear only opinions that agree with my own. I just didn't want to receive hate mail. That is what I meant.

Can't stop love. And I wouldn't if I could. That being said though, just because two human beings are in love, that doesn't make them exempt from the law.

Love comes very unexpectedly. Real love does not see the race, religion or legal status. My fiance is at the moment illegal, but his status does not matter to me. All I know is that we will both do whatever it takes to stay together. If worst comes to worse we will be moving to his home town of acapulco, mexico. I hate it when people tell me that I'm a traitor or that I should not love someone who is here without papers, its just plain stupid. I have alot of love and gratitude for being able to be born here. Just because I happen to love someone who is from another country does not make me a traitor. We are all apart of one race, the human race.

There is no way of knowing if it true love no matter who you marry but I understand where your coming from. I know you are wondering if it is just to get a green card. I worked with victims of domestic violence for many many years and in most cases it was a marriage of convenience. Meaning that invaluable green card. All I can say is I wish you luck and hope you live happily ever after.

No take,no problem. You can't control who you fall in love with just like you can't pick and choose your family.Good luck.FYI: If someone who is a US citizen marries someone who is here illegally, that person has to return to their country of origin and wait for a visa to return here legally. This usually takes 9 months to a year and it is not cheap.

People fall in love all the time, sometimes with people that they perhaps should not have started seeing.
If someone fell in love with an Illegal, then perhaps they could prove their love and leave the country where they live, and go to live in the country of origin of the illegal

sure, they could get married or maybe as they are married the immigrant can practice for a eco-friendly card which she would qualify for when you consider that she wil then be an "prompt relative of a US citizen" and she or he entered the country legally. Had she entered the country illegally, and not using a visa, it will be a diverse tale. She does not could depart the country to practice. it fairly is only the case for persons who got here right here illegally. the guidelines even as it is composed of prompt relatives human beings voters are fantastically forgiving. issues that would make different immigrants inadmissible (unable to get a visa/eco-friendly card) does not make prompt relatives human beings voters inadmissible.

I think that adults have some baseline requirements before they trust enough to develop a relationship serious enough to call 'love'. I think this would be a situation to stay away from. Lust is a separate issue, of course.
However, they can always go back to the illegal's country. It isn't as though they have to stay where he/she is illegal. Otherwise, they need to follow our laws.
If what you really meant was that you only want to hear opinions that agree with your own, I don't think I obliged you.

Fall in love with whoever, just don't get used for citizenship. and recognize the consequences of such an action(i.e- don't complain when they are deported). if you don't get them legal, they can be deported, even f you have kids together.
So, if you are really committed, help them get legal. And yes, it is possible to actually help someone get an attorney or fill out the correct papers. People do it every day. You don't have to get them citizenship, they can become legal permanent residents if they want.

Love and law are two different things. Many women in our country have a "thing" for criminals and will actually marry mass murderers who are in prison.
Not that THAT has a connection to your situation...
Now that you are in love, go to the Catholic Church and have the premarital classes. You may find out that you are not compatible and will save yourself a lot of grief in the future. No, I am not a Catholic, but they offer a realistic course which has helped many.
Be prepared to have your love face consequences for their choices. If you break the law you must accept accountability.

Well buddy, you've pretty much made answers impossible. It's hard not to hate traitors. And someone who puts their personal desires about the welfare of their country is a traitor.
Humans do lots of things that are immoral, illegal, or both. Even though these failings are "human," we still put those who commit them into prison, or make them pay fines, or subject them to such other punishments as reasonable people find necessary.
