He shakes his ears but not just only his ears, his whole body, kinda how they do after they have a bath, and he does it alot, i thought maybe he had ear mites because for a few days there he was shaking only his ears, but i've been giving him ear mite drops and he still shakes his entire body...does anyone know why that may be?

Not all ear mite meds work if they are already really established in the inner ear. And it sounds like it could also be something a bit more to it. It could be possible that he is now shaking his entire body because it is getting worse and the ear shaking just wasn't working for him, so no he is getting more aggressive about it. Have you also been washing out the ear? When I brought home my newest adopted dog she had filthy ears and we had to wash them for a couple days to get them good again. My other dog shakes his head whenever he gets a dirty ear. I regularly clean my dogs ears with cotton swabs just like a person would, and they have never had ear mites. I know it is an expense that can be costly if it ends up being nothing, but I would go to the Vet. now rather than waiting until it may possibly get worse and have to schedule a emergency visit or go during the holiday next week. That will be very costly. So just to make sure pop in with Baxter and make sure it is nothing more serious. Or if you are not doing the ear wash as yet, you could give that a try first and see if that makes a difference.
Good Luck!

Sounds like it could be ear mites. But could also be a number of things, my dog shakes her body when she gets mad of frustrated. I guess in a way, Baxter is trying to tell you something. I would take him to a vet.

I reckon it must be something that is agitating Baxter quite a bit if he does it constantly. Does he do it specifically when he seems in a particular mood or is it random?
Perhaps it would be safer to take him to a vet and pin point whether it's psychological or with an actual meaning - hey, perhaps he just enjoys his ears flapping around.
Had a maltese poodle male once who loved shaking himself from head to toe and did it when he was very excited especially when I came home from going out for a while.

It's possible it could be a food allergy. But then again it may just be a habbit. ^^ Look into an allergy test with your vet.
My pup used to get really waxy ears. We changed her food and they've never looked better. She was allergic to a yeast product that's in most dry dog foods. All dogs are different but that sounds really similar to what Maggie was dealing with. Call your vet, a phone call doesn't cost a heck of a lot and you can clear up a lot. ^^
Hope this helps, Good luck

If it is a small dog it could be a yeast infection, this need treatment since it is annoying and sometimes painful to the dog. Talk to your vet before giving Baxter (cute name) any more treatments. Hope this helps!!

...could be a bacterial or yeast infection. Baxter needs to see a vet. If he's shaking his head, his ears are probably pretty painful.
