It will never happen. The need for religion seems to be a part of human nature. Religion will change but I don't think it will ever go away. The belief in space aliens seems to be a kind of religion for some people.

You will always have religion so long as you have people who want to be told how to act rather than deciding for themselves, and other people who want power over their fellows.
