Titus 3: 3-7 - Jesus' mercy saves us, and belief in him - 'Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy'

Romans 10: 9-13 - Whoever believes in God and Jesus, and the stories of the Bible is saved.

Matthew 19: 16-30 - keep the commandments of not murdering, stealing, bearing false witness, honour your father n mother, love your neighbour as yourself and you will be saved. Sell posessions.

Luke 13: 22-28 - be humble, it is easier for camel to go through eye of needle than rich man enter heaven etc

John 3: 16-19 - Whoever believes in God and Jesus is saved.

1 John 4: 17-21 - Love others and love God.

The only convincing passage that MAY hint at homosexuals going to hell is Matthew 25: 31-46 where the righteous and unrighteous are separated to go to heaven and hell. But this is close to a passage about how by helping other people you help Jesus, so I see the 'righteous' more as being people who are kind to others.

*SOME* Christians, sorry.

And I'm not gay. If I fancied another woman, I'd act on it, sure. But I don't. It is just one of the views I really don't agree with.

I asked about CHRISTIANS. If you use Leviticus 18:22 as evidence, you also have to stop eating shellfish and wear fringes on your clothes and obey all the rest 613 mitzvot. Unless you do this, you have committed sin in regard to the Old Testament anyway.

Dear Lady,

The fact of the matter is that ALL people will go to the lake of fire unless they can find a substitute to go for them. The reson is that ALL men have sinned--transgressed God's law. Homosexuality is a sin just like getting drunk, or lying, or stealing, or cursing, or spreading gossip. And the Lord tells us what the penalty for sin is eternal damnation. "Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezekiel 18:4). "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23).
Please read carefully Genesis 18, 19 and 2 Timothy 3.

How about this passage:
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Can it be any clearer? If a person is an ACTIVE homosexual, and God is real, they will NOT go to heaven. However, if a person is a homosexual and doesn't actually have relations with someone of the same sex, they still have a chance at heaven.
That said, I try very hard not to judge. I have bisexual and homosexual friends. They know that I feel their lifestyle is wrong, but many of them also knew me when I myself was bisexual. I love them, no matter what they do.

Well in l Corithians 6:9-10 "Know ye not that the unrighteousshall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor EFFEMINATE, nor abusers of themselves with makind,
Nor theives, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

l corith 7;33 "But he that is married careth for the things of the world, how he ma please his WIFE."

Levi 18;22-23 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind:It is ABOMINATION.
Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith:neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto:it is CONFUSION."

There are more verses but I think these are fairly representative. And you are right, nowhere does it say you will go to Hell for it. But if a sin will cause you to be separated from the lord hell is a distinct possibility. Only God can truly judge you. He certainly knows your heart better than I do. And why would you give a fat rat's behind what someone else thinks if you are truly convinced you are right?

Although I believe that sex outside of marriage, man to woman, is sinful in any form, it does not mean that I believe everyone who is gay will go to hell. Sin is sin - we all sin.

Salvation comes from believing that Jesus died on the cross in atonement for all sin, that he was buried and on the third day He rose from the dead in victory over death. His sacrifice, and acceptance of the free gift of salvation, is what brings you back into fellowship with God. You become saved.

After a person is saved, they will still sin. We are to turn away from that sin and ask forgiveness to restore fellowship with God. God loves you just as you are, He saves you just as you are, but He loves you enough to not leave you there - He will start to work in your life to help you grow into the person you can be.

So in answer to your question, I don't think that all gay people are going to hell - just those who have not accepted Jesus.

I do not believe homosexuals are going to hell, but the Bible does provide evidence for this. In the New Testament, in naming the sexual sins Paul cites homosexuality as one of them. According to Christian faith, if one is consciously engaging in acts that God has deemed to be sinful, they will go to hell. One must be 'saved unto works' which means that they not only get saved, but also do the things that the Bible commands them to do. If you simply believe, but do not follow the word of God, then it is as if you don't believe at all. (I am, however, not a Christian, and therefore not the best authority on these matters.)

It says in the bible that GOD sees it as a perversion.I can't see someone being a great person but gay being turned away by GOD. But to GOD, all His commandments are equally serious.Like coveting your neighbor or killing your neighbor.Although we do not understand, they are equally offensive to GOD.Also. for those who hate bigots of all stripes, classifying all Christians in a certain category if being a bigot!

I'm christian & I don't believe that. I believe that if you are a good person, have faith, & ask for forgiveness for what ever sins you may commit, you will go to heaven. In my opinion the church has made interpretations of the bible that fit their beliefs & preferences. A good example of this is the requirement of priests/nuns to remain unmarried & celibut (catholisism). The Bible states that people are to procreate, that is one of the arguments used to say that gays will be "damned", yet they do not allow priests/nuns to procreate.

Sadly Christians do not understand God at all, they just think they do. Tragic really when you consider that God created all people the way they are for a reason. Personally I think most simply desire to feel better about their own lot in life, and what better way than to attack, put down or otherwise harm those who are different. Consider the story of the Samaritan and how his kind were shunned yet he was the only one to help and was still shunned. Such as it is with Christians.
