Hi, for the last couple of days I've had a feeling of fullness in my ear, a bit of ringing, and things sound slightly muffled. However, it does seem to be getting slightly better. It kind of feels like the ear symptoms of a cold except without a cold. There hasn't been any pain though.

I've been really busy but I decided today to go see a doctor. Now, I could go right away or I could wait till tomorrow morning, which would be the most convenient.

Would you guys recommend going now or waiting? I don't want to lose any hearing by being lazy.

Please don't respond unless you know something about ear infections; i.e you have them a lot or you work in health care.

See the doc today in case you do have an ear infection or fluid in the ears. If not taken care of it can cause hearing loss...............permanent hearing loss. This comes from a nurse who also happens to be hearing impaired as result of fluid in the ears as a child that they could not get rid of even with tubes in my ears.

You may just have water in your ear. I would suggest waiting until tomorrow unless you are feeling PAIN. If your ear is PAINFUL then go in and get on some medicine because it is most likely an ear infection. If your ear is a discomfort that you can stand for another day, then just wait for it to be convienient. The body is good at fixing itself--it's what it does. So if you aren't in pain or bothered a lot I would wait it out.

your symptoms suggest that there could be water in your ear canal, which can happen, but does not cause an infection. lower your head towards the side that feels such and rub your ears from time to time. if it's water, it'll eventually get released. However, pain in the ear means an infection.

a few drops of peroxide is great for ear infection or water in the ear....also, try laying on a heating pad, on low, but the heat will losen things up there as well. Make sure your head is flat on the pad. When my son was a baby this is what I used to make him do for his ear aches from infections. It really losens things up and helps.
Feel better. If not better after trying this, call the dr. at least by Friday.

I would recommend you put a few drops of peroxide in your ear. Years ago a doctor told me to do this for my son who always seemed to have ear infections. Lie on the opposite of the sore ear put a few drops of peroxide in the ear and let it stand for a few minutes. You should feel it bubble in your ear. Turn to the other side to let it drain out . First hold a paper towel to your ear to catch the droppings.
