I think he's amazing, period. I know he has a lawsuit pending against him, but I think this nation is too litigious anyway. Everybody thinks somebody else is to blame when something goes wrong. What the naysayers don't understand is that Cesar Millan is NOT a dog trainer. He's a dog REHABILITATOR, and there's a huge difference. He doesn't teach methods of obedience training for normal, well-adjusted dogs. He trains owners on how to be a pack leader and he rehabilitates dogs with all kinds of problems ranging from minor anxiety to severe aggression. I can only guestimate the number of dogs' lives he saves every year because their owners would have otherwise given up on them and surrendered them to shelters where they would have either been killed or gone from home-to-home-to-home, never having their issues addressed. What do you think?

Cesar IS the Dog Whisperer.

Where is the PEOPLE WHISPERER when we need one?

Too bad some humans are so shallow minded. Humans are TRAINED to respond and to take certain actions against others. Some humans need to be REHABILITATED just to be able to interact with their own kind.

Dogs make better companions than most people.
Cesar has proved this over and over with his Power of the Pack.

I really believe he's the man... ok, ok, ok: the dog's man... his method makes a lot of sense. I've heard about him way before Discovery started airing his show, and once I watched it for the first time, I got hooked-up on it. It's really bad that some opportunistic person is trying to sue him... I've always think that many owners let their dogs rule the household, regardless of size and breed. Cesar stops this behavior and put some pressure on the owners to adopt new ways. If you have a dog, don't think that this dog is a person trapped in a dog's body... they are not children and they won't behave like humans. People thinking that a little discipline is bad, should take a closer look, maybe they need some direction themselves. Leave Cesar alone, there are lots of dogs that really need that kind of intervention.

I watched the DVD's when they came out because I do not have cable and I was thrilled to see his methods. I have always been a strong pack leader so I was familiar with most of his techniques. I admire him greatly, but I don not worship him. Sad to hear he is being sued. Owners should take more iniative with their pets when they get them not when its unbearable or they simply should not own dogs. One episode bothered me, but i know that Ceasar was only trying to correct the dog. It was the mixed breed, kinda looked husky-ish that kept biting and puncturing the owners hand, she was a woman. The bit her like twice that they mentioned on the show. I personally would have euthanized the dog. I have kids, and a zero tolorance for unpredictable biting. Now if the dog was hit by car and painful and bit, I could understand, but a nice walk in park and the dogs flips out and bites the owner. Nope, no way no how in my book. If it would have been a bully breed all kinds of hell would have been raised.

PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED

Oh I totally agree with you. Cesar Millan has a special gift. He has done so much good for dogs and advocates the rights of many misunderstood breeds. I think he is amazing. I didn't even know he has a lawsuite pending against him...

I always refer people to look into his books or tapes if they are having behavioral problems with there dogs.

Cesar has made me a better dog owner... and has given me a even more well behaved and mild mannered Pit Bull.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/zkYaQ

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

I think it's a little odd that he groups all dogs requirements the same no matter the size. He says all dogs should get a 45 min. -1 hr. walk every day. I have a toy mix puppy and about 20 min. is all she can take and she's ready to head home.

If it wasn't for Cesar Milan, I would probably hae given up on my dog a long time ago. I learned how to take my AB on walks without having my arm ripped from the shoulder. I think he's the greatest. In my opinion, he's a miricle worker for some and a problem solver for most! I didn't know he was being sued....sorry to hear it.

I think he's great, but he has his weaknesses like anyone. I also love/respect/admire Ed Frawley (http://www.leerburg.com). I sent him an email about my dog with SEVERE seperation anxiety and his advice cured her in 2 weeks flat. AMAZING! He has free podcasts on the website to help you train yourself oh.. uh.. your animal too.

I do think, however, the people who watch Cesar's show on TV and then try to adopt those techniques into their home without having a behavioralist on site are crazy. There's no way I (at 5'2") would dare to attempt to 'alpha roll' a great dane or rottweiler. Some of the things Cesar makes look so easy are very frustrating/dangerous in real life. He himself says he's been bitten innumerous times, etc. etc.

And his lawsuit by the way is the result of carelessness of one of his employees, not Cesar himself.

Still I prefer Ed Frawley, he's my dog whisperer!

I also think he is amazing. He has a gift that is a powerful tool that can help animals that most likely would be euthanized. I have a greater understanding of Pit Bulls and Rotts. I was never afraid of that breed but a misunderstanding of them.I hope that the people who are suing him don't get what they are asking for. I didn't know about it and really don't understand it.

I absolutely love him! I have always been "in charge" with all of my animals - dogs, cats, horses, steers, sheep, etc. But he has given me alot of insight to why they respect certain behaviors over others, and especially how to initially "meet" a new dog.

I only wish that I had a problem canine just so I could have the chance to meet him! LOL!!
