I have 2 little girls, 4 and almost 2, and we just found out that we were having a boy. I am from a family of all girls, so I have no experience in raising a boy. The only person I have to ask advice from is my mother in law, and it has been 28 years since she has had a little boy. So I was wondering, besides the physical aspect, what is the biggest difference in raising a boy than raising a girl?
At least I know the MOST important part, make sure the penis is pointing down in the diaper, or there will be pee everywhere!LOL
Thanks to everyone!

Hey congrats good for you I also had two girls before my first son. I was so surprised that I actually had a boy at the hospital I kept checking his diaper to make sure he really had a penis. Also getting used to saying my son sounded weird to me too. I didn't notice too much of a difference except that my girls slept alot better. They also were more vocal...surprise their right? My girls started talking alot earlier then my son did and just never seemed to stop. Girls seem to cry and whine a little bit more. But having a boy is really great and they are much closer to mom. Good Luck with the new baby boy your girls are going to love him,

i have three boys and i find that all the people with little girls have it a bit easier because girls tend to occupy them themselves a little better, my children always needed constant attention all the time they were awake! girls can have a toy and play with it, but boys need you to play with them, that it was i have found unless that is just mine! i constantly talked to them all the time! so if it went quiet they thought something was wrong, lol. I have 12, 10 and a four year old and needless to say they are all devoted mommys boys. i think from an early age girls are more independant.

which direction a boys penis is pointing is not the most important part..lol. 28 years or 100 you never forget your babies and how to take care of them so give her a little more credit. when they are babies other than boys being easier there is not much difference. as they get older you will learn what you need to know.
boys are more difficult to potty train.

I have 3 boys and the biggest difference I see between them and the girls their age is their endless energy. Boys are always busy and want to be played with. They also are more aggressive than girls and will be harder to potty train later down the road. Good luck and congrats.

It depends on the child. I know wild and active boys and I know quiet boys. I have an 8 year old daughter who is more active then most boys I know.

the big difference about racing a boy rather than a girl is that
boys need a father figure because they need to be raced strong, someone who shows them how to be a man, the things mans like and do, make sure your baby daddy is around and sharing time with him when he's born, he could teach him how to be a little men.

Before the teen years, boys will give you the biggest headaches. When they get to be teens, girls will make you wish all you had was boys.

Girls are more cuddly, clean, and care about other people. Boys usually are more prone to wrestling and breaking things on purpose.
