Why is it that Christians, Jews, and others laugh at jokes made at their expense, but whenever anyone says anything even slightly humorous about Muslims, they riot in the streets and start killing people?

The word 'Islam" in Arabic means: submission to God. We believe He created us, thus, He owns us and can take away our health, wealth and life whenever He wishes. We are not to complain. Our reward will be heaven (I hope) as such hardship in this life is a test of faith. After the submission, come the adoration and respect for Prophet Mohammed. Do U enjoy hearing your loved one being mocked? We feel hurt when anyone mocks Islam or the Prophet. The degree of expressing this hurt or anger varies. If some burn flags or attack embassies, it does not mean we all agree with them. We cannot be ALL the SAME, we are different such as any other religion. Hence, actions are different. It would've been kinder of U to say "why some Muslims react…." Not "what's wrong with Muslims". Did you see the whole 1 billion react in that manner??
If SOME Christians do not care when Christ is being mocked, that is their business, they don't see that it hurts. We care about Mohammed more than they care about Jesus. I believe I care about Jesus more than they do.

A good example is the Borat character who's Jewish in real life and able to make the most insensitive horrid remarks about his beliefs, and with the majority of us having a laugh about it. So yeah, you're right. Oversensitivity I think caused by an inability to change due to stubborness.

I have asked the same question. They claim to be a religion of peace but that is hard to swallow when they killed Nun's and innocent people over a cartoon. In fact it goes as far back as Ali. He became a Muslim and then participated in the most violent sport in America. Find this peace movement hard to believe. Not saying all Muslims are this way or that his is what their religion really preached but I do know what has happened in the name of the Muslim religion. I guess you make your on opinion..
