You probably are not feeding her enough fruits or veggies to keep her going all the time. At 8 months she should be crawling a lot of activity helps too. Give her a lot of water this will keep her regular.
Otherwise take her to a Dr. for medical Advise....

honestly, if your baby is constipated you aren't doing the right thing by holding her legs up. try rubbing her tummy in a circular motion clockwise (way of the digestive system). It will help her digest her food better and most likely make her less constipated so that her bowel movements are more regular. Also make sure you are giving her water in her bottle, not just formula... if the problem still consists see her doctor, she may need to be put on soy products.

I know you're problem all too well.
Everytime I would lift my son's legs to take off his diaper, BAM, what a surprise, guess he wasn't done.
Hold her legs, with diaper still on.... push her knees to her tummy area, it helps their stomach muscle contract to get that last bit out.
Then remove the diaper and wipe. Again, sometimes just the wiping would stir some more movement to come out. It's the whole thing about stimulating the area. Kids, they are fun and messy little buggers aren't they : )

have you contaced yuor doctor about the constipation problem?
i let my son sit for about 5 minutes after he has a bm to make sure he is done, so i dont have to change the diaper in another ten minutes. you can keep the diaper on her while you hold her legs, might help cut down on any messiness.

I think you should leave the diaper on because things can get messy. I was told that to help with constipation, lye baby on back and push their legs to their chest.

Better to let them finish, that way you get it all at one time. Give her some prune juice that will help with her pooping
