Doing anything that takes your eyes off the road or that distracts your attention from driving is dangerous.
That said, I'm guilty of the text message thing. *blush*

I think it's very dangerous. I used to live in NY and I hated the no cell phone law while driving...I thought I could totally drive and talk or text. Now I live in Florida and there's no such law here. I still don't use my cell phone when driving (mostly out of habit from being in NY so long) but I can see how it really affects how people drive. I have almost been in several accidents because people aren't paying close enough attention while on the phone and driving. People drift into other lanes, they don't stop in time, they don't use signals, etc. I do think it's dangerous and I wish they'd put the same law as NY into place down here.

Do you really not know the answer to this? Talking on a cell phone is not nearly as dangerous as dialing. You know you can pull over, check your text, text them back and then continue driving. Even if you don't check it right away, it will still be there. There are precious cargo in vehicles. Babies and children and little old ladies are passangers too. Please be careful next time. Keep our families safe. Thank you and have a lovely day.

you already know, adults could end GENERALIZING AND STEREOTYPING babies. "babies do no longer try this, babies that". i've got had my license for roughly 3 years now, and that i'm fairly conscious of the negative aspects of texting and using, and so are my acquaintances. i understand ADULTS that textual content textile and stress often, and did you already know I extra often than not see adults texting and using jointly as i'm on the line? it is not in simple terms us. end judging. in simple terms by way of fact some or maximum youngsters think of they're invincible and could do something does no longer mean it particularly is each physique. How might you like it if I reported all adults have been condescending, hated babies, are oblivious to new technologies, and regarded down upon babies? reality is, no longer all adults are like that, that's a stereotype, so do no longer stereotype babies.

Any time you do anything that distracts you from driving, then you are putting everybody else in jeopardy. Text messaging is the worst, as it takes your eyes off the road to read it. I look for it to be outlawed, and I for one think it should be. Sorry, but I don't want to die just because someone had something to say, and was to cheap to call. Good Luck!!!

Absolutely, it's very dangerous to take your eyes off of the road even for a couple of seconds. Not only should you be very aware of how YOU are driving, but you should also always pay attention to what OTHER DRIVERS are doing. Using cell phones while driving is illegal in alot of states.

Text messaging is even worse and much more dangerous. Driving with a cell phone is bad even with a headset, because your attention is in another place. But with text messaging, not only is your attention in another place, but you aren't even LOOKING! This has got to be one of the most dangerous things I have ever heard of. Please, please stop.
If my begging doesn't work, consider this: Several months ago, paramedics came across a car wreck and found the driver unconscious inside the vehicle. On the floor of the car on the passenger side, they found her detatched arm, the hand still clutching her phone with a text message in progress. True story.

My uncle is obsessed by this women and is text messaging all the time. I can't even ride with him anymore , it makes me nuts. He does not pay attention to the road like he should.I think text messaging should be against the law while driving.I don't want to be killed because someone is typing a message.

Some U.S. States and most Canadian provinces are in the process of making laws that will make talking on a cell or texting while driving a criminal offence.
