Are men afraid of beautiful women?

Sometimes I get the feeling that less attractive less intelligent, docile women get the good guys while the beautiful women get the not so good guys with egos the size of Texas. What is your take on this?

beautiful women - the thought is that they are taken, or that we will be rejected before we can put 2 words together. sometimes there is the thought that we need "something extra" to have a chance with this particular woman so we don't even try. and if she is incredibly intelligent in addition to being beautiful... we tend to wonder how we can measure up to them... how to talk to them without seeming like fools. all in all the though is that we are setting our sites a bit too high and it would be better to pursue a woman that we actually have a chance of reciprocating our feelings.

on the other hand... in many ways it takes all the pressure when we do talk to them as we already know we aren't going to succeed, so we can lose any nervousness we feel :P

Some may be intimidation but equal to that I think twig had it right with the high maintenance. When I was single I would pass on talking to some very attractive ladies because the ones I had dated were just to high maintenance. With many of the guys I knew that was the case. If you were not looking for a relationship then it was ok to pick up a beautiful women but if you were looking for a relationship they are just way to much trouble. Find a average to good looking lady with a good personality and you are way better off.

Yes, they are. The belief is that physically attractive women are only interested in dating physically attractive or successful men. So the guys with a lot of confidence are usually the one's that approach those types of women. Everyone fears rejection, so if a guy is not highly confident or thinks that his chances of receiving a positive response are slim, he'd probably just sit back and admire her from afar.

Guys in high school are terrified of beautiful women. May be the most popular guy could try to date her but the average fella has too much to lose by having a beautiful popular girl talk smack about them. It isnt worth it

I think so to, Men feel threatened by anyone who makes them feel small that is why guys use their sexual prowess or their penis size to compensate for their inadequacies they are also threatened by too much intelligence and too much common sense ( a lot of common sense makes up for any lack of education in life ) Men love control and beauty intelligence threatens that sense

yes, some man can be afraid, why do you ask? In our minds as man we get a little insecure...and not accept the challenages that comes with beauty. so we sometime settle. Find a secure man like myself must have confidence in his self, and that can offer the inner being instead of the outter being.

I believe that men are slightly intimidated by too much beauty either because of lack of confidence or they believe they could be high maintenance. At this point I believe maybe you should become the aggressor.

yes. we definately get intimidated by beautiful women. I have also noticed that beautiful women will smile a lot less at guys - that often makes the intimdation worse. Maybe a beautiful woman should go up to a man they want.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that normal men are not going to take a chance of getting blow en out of the water like they always have. Face it beautiful ladies do not want men , they want someone that looks real good to hold onto.......
