My Siamese does this too. I always just think he is saying hello. Try meowing back to him and see if he answers you. My cat does.

I would ask you to explain a little more. What kind of a noise? Does he do it every time he comes into a room where you are?

Cats attempt to communicate with their human, and we can learn their language if we pay attention, and with practice. Your cat may be saying "hello, human. I love you" or he may be saying "hello, human, what's for dinner?" He's sharing something with you and that's awesome.

he or she is trying to tell you that there is something in there that she doesn't really enjoy. But, she will still go in. You can keep it the same and she/he'll get used to it . But, if it doesnt' get any better. And you cant figure out what is bothering your cat.. then.. just consult someone.

Lots of cats have all these great vocalizations they use to communicate with each other and especially with their humans. Hello, goodbye, I'm happy, I'm annoyed, pet me, don't pet me....the list goes on and on.
