…. when I realised (which was straight away) I washed if off and carried on as normal BUT now that one armpit is sore and red. I have not been using any product under that one arm for a week and washing every day with very mild soap and water but it is still red and a little itchy. Has this happened to you and what did you do?
I will go see a doctor but the next appointment is days away and I was wondering if you know of any good creams or cures for inflamed skin that I could try to reduce the redness and pain.

The best thing to do with your problem is to wash only in warm water and do not use any soap or creams as the chemicals in them could react and prolong the ordeal.
When you can sit or stand with your armpit open to let air around it and to evaporate the sweat without delay. Note that even sitting still you are sweating in that area, not a lot but it is there. If at all possible sit only in your under clothes (top only) to take away other points of irritation.
Finally treble rinse your clothes and use less washing powder or liquid than usual.
Hope it goes soon.

The underarm area is a pretty sensitive patch of skin. You probably had an alergic reaction to the spray. Try rubbing some hydrocortizone cream on the red area and it should clear up soon. You can find it in the first aid aisle near the bandages and the antibiotic creams. I believe they even have a formula with a numbing agent to soothe the pain.

E45 cream is very good, it is hypoalegenic so it should not add to your discomfort.

as the issue is under arm it may take a little longer due to being covered and more likely to have clothes rubbing too.

Gold Bond medicated talc powder works wonders on this. I use it when I get chaffed and it always works. Apply it at night before going to bed and the next morning, the rash should be gone. Make sure you get the one in the yellow bottle though. And be warned, it's cold when you put it on but after a while, it feels good and it works overnight. Good Luck.

a cream with no fragrance might help- E45 and even vaseline helps all itchy skin that i get!!- i had itchy skin under my arm once, i used "toms of maine" natural deoderant for a while and it cleared it up!!
also i no it sounds horrid but dont shave or use any hair removal cream as this will only irritate the skin- as will itching it!
good luck, hope this helped!

Good call on seeing the doctor. You are probably just having a mild allergic reaction. Keep it clean, (use a very very gentle soap [if any] ), aired and maybe put some ice on it?

Maybe it's an allergic reaction. Use a little Benadryl creme and see what happens. It should help.

If it is itchy, its healing. Try cortisone cream from the drug store.
