They are all lukewarm. Christians disregard the Old Testament because they don't want to sell their daughters (Exodus 20:7-11), marry their rapists (Duet 22:28-29), and finally people caught on that a woman does not deserve death if she is too frightened to scream while being raped (Duet 22:23-24).
They ignore the verses in the new testament which say that the Old Testament is still relevant.
2 Timothy 3:16
John7:19
John 1:17
And I guess women want to braid their hair.
1 Timothy 2:9
Come to think of it, if God does not want us to wear gold, why do people get married with gold wedding bands???

Yes, honestly a lukewarm church makes me so sad. You just walk in and you get this feeling that something inside there is so dead. I go to a Christian University where we have chapel twice a week and everytime the worship music comes on people just stand there and stare and I wonder why no one is getting into it and singing and dancing and just loving God. And, yes i feel that more and more churches are like this nowadays. I think we need a spiritual revival or something. I mean come on...lets get excited about God!

In church even if everyone eyes are shielded, It's at least one person there who is responsible for the whole flock and if they are teaching the flock one way ( by the way alot of people don't learn the bible for themselves they rely on what their pastor says) which benefits them. They take anyone who learned more than the average Joe as a threat, because of different beliefs or knowledge. In truth thou, it up to individuals to read and learn the bible for their own interpretation and form their own beliefs and use their Church as a guide. You should never take another mans word as law.

The lukewarm church thrives in America because people (as evidenced on this site) can't stand Christians who actually believe and care about doctrine and Truth.
Modern day "tolerance" says that you can believe whatever you want as long as you don't REALLY believe it. If you think that what you believe is actually True, Universally True, then you're labeled as arogant.
Let's go to church but shhhhh, don't tell anyone about Jesus.
May God have mercy on us.

...If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything - and don't just stand for something, stand for the Word of God.
...About 1 1/2 years ago the Episcopal Church made this lame and spineles decision, re: the ordination of homosexuals:
..."If you must make a choice between heresy and schism, always choose heresy," said the Rt. Rev. Peter J. Lee to 500 Episcopalians meeting for the annual diocesan council at the Hyatt Regency in Reston.
..."For as a heretic, you are only guilty of a wrong opinion," Bishop Lee said, quoting Presbyterian scholar James McCord. "As a schismatic, you have torn and divided the body of Christ. Choose heresy every time."
...They chose heresy and they knew it was heresy - no character or conviction at all. Now they can have their nice, warm, conviction-less, flaky pack - the blind leading the blind.
...I'll pray for them, but I could have no part in their congregation.
...I will stand for the Scriptures, and thank the Lord that we attend our church where Jesus Christ is honored and His word is the preached (of course, any church makes mistakes, but there are those around who know God and the Scriptures, and have the Holy Spirit, and will lovingly correct errors.)
...Stick with the truth. Jesus said in John 17:17, "Sancitfy them in Thy truth; Thy word is truth."

Lukewarm is as Humpty Dumpty wall sitting: being Undecided about Grace vs Law; And de-"fault" goes to Law (a "great" fall).
To bewitched churches it is said:
ye are fallen, from Grace: Gal 5:4
because you are justfified by Law
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Good verse! I agree. You cannot have one foot in and one foot out- And people who pick and choose scripture are in a danger zone.
We all need to pray for spiritual discernment. And stick to a bible teaching church who LOVES the Lord God and relies on HIM to teach us through a Pastor- and who does not skip over verses.

I can tolerate a lukewarm church. A firebrand church that is aggressive about forcing itself on others is a social nuisance that I will not tolerate.

People should want to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help them God.
What would people think if they knew God was only Half paying attention to them and Half involved in thier own lives?
Exactly...
