Will you guys answer a question for me? Why is aborting a baby, killing it, and throwing the aborted baby in a trash can ok but having an abortion and using the embryo to enrich a less fortunate persons life so frowned upon? These girls are choosing to have abortions, why not use the tools at hand? I don't understand. I know a lot of you are going to tell me how horrible abortions and stem cell reasarch is but wait until you have a loved one with Parkinsons Disease or a loved one who got into a freak accident and is paralyzed. Trust me, you're mind changes real fast.

Do you hear yourself? "Why is aborting a baby, killing it, and throwing the aborted baby in a trash can ok..." It's never okay to do any of that. To say Embrionic Stem Cell research should be done because the abortion is going to happen any way, is missing something in the equation. This is an attempt to justify the means with the end. If you allow for Embrionic Stem Cell research, it will promote the means - abortion. It just isn't taking a moral position.

Now the other issue is that there is much hype about Embrionic Stem Cell Research. There have not been any positive results to date demonstrating that it will do anything for anyone. At this point in time, it is a big money sink hole that could go on for decades without any significant results. On the other hand, Adult Stem Cell Research has already provided benefits and there is promise that research will continue to provide more. No body dies for this either.

That's not what is going on. They are growing the embryos and then killing them, not aborting the babies, for stem cells. Did you know you can get stem cells from imbilical cords? You can. I'm for that kind of research. Mothers are encouraged when their babies are born to donate the imbilical cords. No one has to die. You're not starting a life and killing it off.

And my position will never change. Even if my loved ones have Parkinsons or something, if I have to start a life and kill it, then I wont' do that at all. If you pay girls to have abortions for stem cells (which I don't think is happening, but it can) then they will go out, get pregnant and kill the babies. It's a horrible idea! How come you're for the murder of innocents when there is a way to do stem cell research without the killing?

Your mind will change even quicker when you find out that embryonic stem cell research has contributed nothing to the treatment of any of the ailments it seeks to solve. Adult stem cell research, on the other hand, has produced a laundry list of treatments without the moral dilemma. Support what works, folks.

It's okay as long is it isn't going to effect the recipient of the embryonic stem cells. There are likely to be cases of trauma induced by implanting "cells from a dead baby".

On the plus side though, stem cells are obtainable from certain parts of a person's body fat so there are alternatives.

you fell into a trap of equivocation
tehre is stem cell research ... and embrionic stem cell research (from unborns)... I see no problem with NON-embrionic stem cell research and in fact it might be more successful havign the more mature cells

non embrionic stem cell research is fine... you can harvest stem cells from umbillical cords and many parts of bodies without putting an unborn baby at risk

the problem with non embrionic stem cell research AHEM is that it is successful and the media wants none of it, it doesnt advance the right political adgenda or break down people aversion to body snatching from infants...

At the rate scientific research is progressing in molecular biology,we will not have to "kill" to harvest the stem cells.

I don't think throwing aborted babies away is right. And I'm not against stem cell research, only against creating lives just to destroy them.
