try letting her brush her own teeth. Make it fun for her, Take her to buy her own toothbrush, whatever one she wants. and pick out her own favorite kid toothpaste. ANY flavor she wants and let her do it by herself. Thats how kids learn. Her teeth arent going to rot at the age of 2! Just let her play and learn and be their brushing your teeth next to her "guiding" her but not doing it for her. That takes all the fun out of it!! GOODLUCK!!!

When my grandson was about that age, he developed a blister on the roof of his mouth - just behind the front teeth. Ask her if she has an ouchey. Will she allow anyone else to look in her mouth or brush her teeth? If so, have them look. If not, sorry sweetie, you HAVE TO LOOK. Hold her lovingly but firmly and open her mouth. If you can get your thumb knuckle behind her back teeth she can't bite you nor close her mouth. If she has those blisters, go see the doctor, they can help. I am sure you have tried pretty princess toothbrushes, etc, but if not that is fun - have her own toothpaste and teach her to use it. Good luck, I know you are worried.

Well don't give up. Maybe you should try and let her do it. I always had a tooth brush just sitting around and my daughter would pickup and just start chewing on it. Your 2yr old could be teething too it he or she h as teeth coming in that could be why she doesn't want you by her mouth and that would explain the biting problem to. Babies can teeth up to 2 1/2. Also don't give her candy and straight juice dilute her juice half and half. Good luck

You could try taking her to pick out a special toothbrush at the store, let her pick out her own. And you might want to try those pink tabs that you chew and show where all the grim is on your teeth. Do it with her and then brush to get rid of the pink stuff. I know dentists have that stuff, but I think you can buy it at the store now too. If that doesn't work try a motorised tooth brush. Some people have really sensitive gag reflex (I do) and a motorised brush takes the focus off of that (for me it does anyway). Good luck!

She is 2 yrs old then good lord buy her a toothbrush show her how to put toothpaste on it and let her do it herself. It she swallows the toothpaste it won't hurt her. Clean tummy too. LOL
I never spanked my kids and they never bite me.
Tell her she is a big girl now and has to do this herself. When she has done this then give her a treat, something she likes. Awarding her for this will help her do it all the time

Then spank her butt or bite her back. She is 2 I don't understand what the problem is. You are letting a 2 year old call the shots and set the rules. It is your job to take care of her teeth.
She is to young to brush her own teeth. you can let her but you still need to brush them also. And yes her teeth can rot, damn there are some really uneducated people on here. By the way bribing her will not solve your poblem which is she is controlling you. That role will not change until you take charge.

I give my daughter a toothbrush when she's in the bathtub, she's 17 months old. She'll get a cup fill it with water and dip the toothbrush in the water then chew on the toothbrush. She'll do this for 4 or 5 minutes then loses interest.
She always watches my husband and I brush our teeth. When we brush our teeth we'll take her toothbrush and do a swipe or two over her teeth.

Try brushing your teeth with her. It will let you monitor her and make sure she is brushing and will show her the proper way to brush. She won't be perfect, but, she is 2. At least it will show her you're serious and be a great way for you to build her confidence because kids more than anything want to be thier parents(that young) and this is a great thing to have her imitate. :)

let her do it herself. My daughter and I have a deal, she brushes first then when its time to rinse mommy just checks and makes sure there isn't any yuckies left. Then get her the flossers that are shaped like dinosaurs and let her floss herself. It helps a lot.
As for the biting, everytime she bites you, lightly flip her on the hand. ( I don't mean bring blood, lol). She will start to associate biting with getting flipped and she will stop. Good luck

I had the same problem with my now 6 year old. Will she brush her own teeth? Have you tried getting her favorite character toothpaste? Sometimes that helps...sponge bob or barbie, etc. Also, try making a game of it, when you are not in a hurry. You brush your teeth and she brushes hers. I think it's better to start off with her doing it and then eventually she may allow you into her mouth with the toothbrush. Also, if she has siblings, getting them to do it together is sometimes fun for both of them! Good luck.
