This could be from your pores being open (rinse with cool water), or an allergy to the soap you use (try switching), but more likely, if it only happens during winter, it's dry skin. Try using a moisturizer/body lotion, with Vitamin E, all over. Not only will it relieve dryness but keep you looking younger! If you want, there are "anti-itch" lotions out there, too. My son gets this every year, but it often lasts throughout the winter.

The site below lists common causes and remedies, and suggests using a humidifier in your bathroom!

Try to use warm instead of hot water. Use soap that is pH-neutral, and don't overuse shower gels (no more than once a day). And most important: moisturize your skin right after showering. I'd recommend either Vaseline Total Moisture Lotion or Advanced Healing Lotion (if you think your skin is very dry).

It would probably be beneficial for you to visit a spa with a steam bath once in a while. This will open the pores and shed excess waste, as well as hydrate your skin.

Your skin is itching b/c you have extremely dry skin. Try to put moisturizing on several times a day. Also, try body butter, it helps b/c it is thick and keeps a good layer of moisture on the skin.

Do you use a bath rag or scrubber when you shower? Either one will clean your skin better. Also you could change your soap.

Stop showering with hot water. Use warm water and mild soaps.

cooler water. The really hot water is what is doing it. You are scalding your skin and then when it hits the cooler air then the nerves go crazy and you itch.

Do NOT dry yourself off. Instead by a very good lotion (we have Vaseline Intensive Care, Hydrating) and rub it on, rubbing it in with the water on you. It can get messy but it works.
