Fantastic! Squashed my hypomania flat in hours, and in conjunction with Lamictal has made me more functional than I can remember. The only downside is weight gain, but I can keep it in check by diet and a lot of exercise. Oh, and you'll sleep like the dead.

Good luck with it

Try this website. Upper left corner has a link to their talk boards (just for discussion on meds). Zyprexa category is about half way down the talk board page. Also, scroll down the main page left window a little less than half way to find the link to med info on Zyprexa.

Don't let the site name put you off. All meds info I've read there has also checked out with PI sheets (med info for doctors) and other med websites. You'll also get a little more info there than at most all other sites. Nice part is that you easily can also look up other bipolar and anti-depressant meds to get an idea what else is available and it has a lot of links to studies on efficacy. Beats medline and rx.com by a long shot in my opinion. Just remember, work with your psychiatrist. None of these meds are OTC for very good reasons.

Zyprexa is a very effective med for bipolars. Most people do very well with it. It can cause weight gain and some rather serious side effects such as diabetes. You really need to discuss this med in depth with your doctor before starting it but it can also greatly reduce bipolar mania.

Try the link below. It is the US National Library of Medicine and the National Institute of Health's MedlinePluse website. This link takes you directly to the Zyprexa® page.
