Of course
Except it was written by fallible people
And translated differently over the years
And ammended over the years
And there are different bibles
And there are peoples' different interpretations
And whose bible will you take as THE word?
Old or New Testament?
If you find one in the original written language, would you be able to completely grasp the writers' meanings?
And then you have the whole God thing.

So, umm... no.
And I think the original writers' would be annoyed at the modern interpretations and literal meanings that people take from it today.

"Didn’t men write the Bible?"

Absolutely. When you write a letter, do you write the letter, or does the pen? Obviously you do; the pen is merely the instrument you use. God used men as instruments to write His "letter" to humanity. They ranged from kings to common fishermen, but the 66 books of the Bible were all given by inspiration of God. Proof that this Book is supernatural can been seen with a quick study of its prophecies. See Psalm 119:105 footnote.

"The fact that there are so many versions proves that the Bible has mistakes. Which one is right?"

True, there are many different versions of the Bible. There are versions in Chinese for the Chinese. There are versions in Russian for the Russian people. There are actually thousands of versions of the Bible—some are in modern languages, some in foreign languages, and some are in old English. Few, in the printing age, can claim that they don’t have access to the Scriptures in their own language. However, each translation is based on the original biblical texts. See Psalm 119:105 footnote.

"Isn’t it blasphemous to call the Bible ‘God’s Word’ when it makes Him look so bad?"

I am going to tell you some things about my father that will make him look bad. He regularly left my mother to fend for herself. I was once horrified to hear that he deliberately killed a helpless animal. Not only that, but he hit me (often). Here’s the information that’s missing: The reason he left my mom during the day was to work to earn money to take care of her and their children. He killed the animal because it had been run over by a car and was suffering. He regularly chastened me because he loved me enough to teach me right from wrong (I was a brat). Portions of the Bible that "make God look bad" merely reveal that we lack understanding. I never once questioned my dad’s integrity, because I trusted him (see Mark 10:15).

Is the Quran truly The Absolute, Most truthful and accurate Word of God = Allah ? It is to the muslim, just as the bible is to christians, and just as the Tanak is the the jews.

All these books say within themselves(there own books, whether the bible or quran or the tanak) that their scriptures are absolute Truth.

Hope this helps some.

That was a most Excellent Question.

THANK YOU !!

In Genesis we read that Adam was put into a deep sleep and a rib was taken from him to make Eve.....Thus we have cloning-something that was unheard of a few years ago. The bible states that from dust you came and to the dust you will return-every compound found in dirt is also found in our bidies, including metals. In the chapter on Job we learn that the Earth is round and again in the chapter of Ecclesiastes...Jesus resurredted several people and cured many in front of multutudes.....I could sit here for days proving that the bible is absolutely, definitively, the word of GOD....KECK

YES and AMEN!

John 1:1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

2 Peter 1:21
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

You'll notice a lot of "believers" that answer "yes" to this question, but offer no proof or evidence -- because there isn't any.
IF you claim the bible is the absolute, definitive word of god, then your god is an idiot. The book is full of errors, self-contradictions, falsehoods, and mistakes. Do you really think an all-knowing, all-powerful god would have such a ridiculously flawed book as his "definitive word?" Heck, I'm no god, and I could do a lot better than the bible in terms of being truthful, consistent, and error-free.

It's a book of myths passed down orally by ancient Hebrew nomads and eventually written down, of *some* history from the Hebrew point of view (and often inaccurate), and made-up stories about jesus and his miracles written long after he was dead and by people who never knew him in an attempt to bolster their nascent cult worship of a guy who was already dead. There's no proof of any kind that it's anything else.

Again, I'm seeing the same exact answers as the previous question.

"It's the Word of God because it says it is the absolute Word of God. "

Circular reasoning at its finest.

I think that is what the debate is all about. If it is the word of God, it's not the word of my God. You know how some people feel what they think is right in their heart, well the Bible just doesn't seem right to me, I can't in good conscious except it as the word of God.

You will only ever get people's opinions on this because science can't prove it either way. In my opinion it seems unlikely, as it's been translated many times, so even if god DID tell whoever what it was he wanted them to write (instead of them just making it up), and they transcribed it absolutely word perfectly then some butcher of a translater comes along later and screws around with the message.

Yes the Bible is the word of God because it says in it that all scripture is "God breathed" God gave the thoughts, ideas, and words to the authors of the Bible so they could write it down for us to have today.
