People tell me different things, but I want to know if i am cool or warm so I can choose the best hair color for me. I am hispanic with light to medium brown hair. I am fair with a splash of freckles on my cheeks and nose. I usually do not tan, I generally just get more freckles. My eyes are hazel green & brown.

I have heard that latin people are usually warm, but that people with freckles are usually cool? So I am confused. Anyone have any idea on this.

I wanted to add that colors that look best on me and get me compliments are true red, burgandy, and white.

Actually, there is some truth in both previous answers (",)

Being 'cool' or 'warm' act as guides - and a guide only! When I had a colour consultation done I was told I was a 'cool spring' (she was from 'colour me beautiful'). So all sorts of combinations are possible...

As an example take 'Sophie Ellis Bextor (singer); she is pale with freckles but looks good as a redhead!

Best option is to pick up the phone and ring any good local hairdresser (got a Nicky Clarke near you?) and have a free no obligation colour consultation. With the wide choice of colour swatches they'll definately find you a good match! Maybe start by introducing slices of colour in your hair...

Wow, I'm on a roll today!

Cool and warm tones are a thing of the past. People were really into that in the 1950's. What you need to do is pick specific colours that look flattering against your skin. If you are looking for hair colour, put swatches against you skin to see the most flattering shades. I suggest reds and rich browns (either cool or warm). And if you have hazel eyes, copper tones look great as well as deep purple or eggplant. Don't be tied down with "cool" or "warm" just buy things that flatter YOU!

I disagree with the first person; tones are not something of the past.
Try this link it tells about the different tones of hair color & there base colors; it should be helpful to you.

Look at your wrist, if the skin has a yellow hue then you are a warm, if it is a pink/peach tone then you are a cool tone.
