A kitten can be spayed or neutered when they reach 2 lbs or 10 weeks of age whichever comes sooner. I suggest talking to your vet to see what he recommends.

Now, you have another issue that you should consider. How to introduce his kitty to your kids. If your kittens are bonded with your boyfriend, then I suggest he ask a friend to bring his male cat to your house. That way your cats won't associate the new family member with your boyfriend. Cats are very territorial.

Separate the new family member from your kittens for the first few days of his arrival. For example, keep him in a bathroom or a small bedroom that gives him quiet, and lets him smell through the bottom of the door the resident kittens. And they can smell him through the door. In a couple of days, bring the cats together with both you and your boyfriend there to monitor how they get along. Any agressive behavior, other than a little hiss, separate the cats again, and wait a day.

Remember to monitor them, and you then hold your kittens and give them attention and your boyfriend do the same for his cat. Then switch cats. Another day goes by. Hold new family member and one kitten and pet & offer treats to both.

You can see where I'm going. The new cat needs to feel secure in his new surroundings before he meets your kittens. they need to know about each other (through smell) before they meet, they need to be kept safe when meeting in person, and they all need to know they are loved and treasured equally by both you and your boyfriend.

Two males may take some time to bond depending upon the age of your boyfriend's cat. If he's up in age, he may only tolerate your kittens. However, with some patience and calm behavior on the part of both their humans, you family will be peaceful and happy in time.

Good luck, and GOOD FOR YOU FOR SPAYING AND NEUTERING YOUR KITTENS. You are a loving and responsible pet owner.

You should get your kittens both fixed and spayed. The only have to be 2 months old. Most cats start heat at about 3 monthes of age. I should now I had that same probelm. Any way if you spay your girl kitty to that meaens you don't have to worry about her mating with any other cat and having more kittens to deal with because it is hard work.

You can spay or neuter cats between the ages of 6 to 14 weeks. It use to be traditional to wait till 5 - 7 months, but with todays proceedures it can safely be done earlier.

Neutering a male cat does not neccesarily mean they will stop spraying, as it's a natural instinct to mark their territory, but done at an early age may help curb the desire. Good luck.

I'm not to sure what a good time would be but you can get them fixed at any time as long as there not carrying kittens with them. I know that my cat was fixed when she was 3 and she didn't have a problem with it. She was just fine the next day. Hope that helps you some!

Thank you for buying your cat constant. Ideally you must preserve your kitten calm and resting for no less than the primary week. That method no gambling. Too a lot pastime can harm the inner surgical procedure (individuals appear to suppose all that occurred was once your cat obtained an incision within the dermis and if those stitches do not fall out, the whole thing is best). Too a lot pastime too can imply the incision takes longer to heal and would get inflamed. If your kitten is so much lively while gambling along with your puppy, is it viable so that you can take your puppy out within the again backyard and even bigger, to the park, and put on the puppy out gambling? Go out and throw the ball for him or permit him chase squirrels, or take him to the puppy park. Then while your puppy is house with the kitten he wont desire to play or a minimum of wont play as tough with the kitten.

if the kittens weigh over 3 pounds they can be fixed. Most vets would like 4/5 months of age however many shelters practice early spay/neuter and will perform the service for a smaller fee compared to a private vet.

i have 3 cat's and i got all mine fixed. i have 2 girl's and 1 boy. i can't remember when i got them fixed. i think it was like at about 4 month's. but you should get them done before they are 6 month's especially the male cat's. cause if they reach over 6 month's they start to spray at about 6 month's when they start. now if you get them fixed before they spray then you won't have problem's witht hem sprayed. but if you get them done after the first time they spray then they will still spray cause they know how to do it. so it would be best to do it before the spray. and make sure that your b/f male cat's are fixed also. you don't want them to spray it's hard to get it out of stuff. good luck!!

Well, you should be okay due to the fact that he's a kitten still. Either way, kittens can go in heat as early as 3 months although it's rare. I would try 5-6 months unless you notice your kitten going in heat any earlier, take her to the vet then.
Good luck!

A kitten needs to weigh at least 3 pounds, and be current on all it's vaccinations (Rabies and FVRCP) before it can be neutered. Vaccinations should be given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks. At the 16 week mark, the final FVRCP is given and the Rabies vaccination is given.

You should wait one week after the final vaccinations are given before you have your cat neutered. Vaccinations require an immune system response and so does anesthesia.
