no.. as jesus himself put it. "you must pick up your cross and follow him". "faith without works is dead".
people will know you by your works.......by how you live your life.
and if that doesn't convince anyone jesus also said "try hard to enter through the narrow gate", implying it is something the masses will not do

Satan believes. Just going to church on Sundays doesn't guarantee a seat in Heaven.

No, because even Satan believes in God, and trembles with fear. If you just believe in God, then you do no better than the Devil. You must accept Him as your Lord and Savior, which Satan hasn't done.
Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to the garage makes you a car. Also, going to church on Sunday would be the wrong day. What day does the Bible say is the right day to worship on? I guarantee you won't find anything in the Bible that says you should go to church on Sunday. Sunday is the pagan "venerable Day of the Sun" that was instituted by the Catholic Church in 325 AD. This became a human tradition that was passed down to the Protestants, who don't even know why they go on Sunday, when everyone in the Bible from Adam to John the Revelator worshipped on Saturday, including Jesus Christ Himself and all his Apostles. The 4th Commandment says, "Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work, but the SEVENTH DAY is the day of the Lord thy God; in it you shall do no work.....for in six days God created the Heavens and the Earth, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed and hallowed the seventh day". When God blesses and sanctifies something, it's permanent. Humans cannot come along and change it later. This is why I now worship on Saturday instead of Sunday.

Even the demons believe and they "shudder." Read the book of John and ask yourself this: What is Jesus asking his followers to do? True Christianity is a very active faith. It's not about storing up Biblical knowledge and living a happy life. It's about using that knowledge and serving others.
Yes, salvation comes by faith and not by works, but if you truly understand what it means to be saved by grace, you will be compelled to move outside of yourself and extend that grace to others. It has nothing to do with a guaranteed seat in heaven.

No it doesn't. Jesus stated that only a "little flock" of Christians are awarded heavenly life. Heaven is not something easily attained. Jesus' apostles were rewarded with heavenly life, but look what they went through as his followers. They were thrown in prison, beaten, and persecuted constantly thoughout their ministry. They remained faithful until death. The Bible says that "faith without works is dead." So a person must be more than just good to be rewarded life in heaven. There are many people who may lead a good and respectable life, but they do not believe in God. So not all good people go to heaven. God has promised us that a "great crowd" of Christians will be given eternal life here on earth. Those who do go to heaven become co-rulers with Jesus in his heavenly government, which will rule over those on earth. Those who receive their reward in heaven will rule as judges and "kings and priests" with Jesus. I have the hope of living here on earth in total peace and security.

Sorry Lady Blue. It doesn't. it's not enough to just believe because even Demons believe in God and even they shudder, but I'm sure they aint getting into heaven. Instead, try Acts 2:38 which tells us to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of Sins. John 8 also tells us to hold to Jesus' teaching so that the truth can set us free.

I don't think anything guarantees you a place in heaven, if heaven even exists. If heaven exists, and the Bible is true, I'm willing to bet mere belief and Sunday attendance will not suffice. The Bible seems to require a lot more than that.

Are you speaking of a luke warm christian? I would say not only do they believe and go to church ( even though church does not make you a christian, but we are to fellowship with other believers and get our spiritual food from church) But that they also pray on their own and do bible studies- do they reall Love the Lord? Only God knows their hearts- are they bearing fruit?
Or are they just going to church out of "good works" because God knows the heart of every person- he knows who are "his sheep" and his sheep know Him. And conviction is also needed.
1 John 3:19-20
19This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

No, you must accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, confess your sins and ask for forgiveness and you are then born again into the Body of Christ. The Christian Church. Tithing, attendance, performing the Great Commission are all nice, but not necessary to be admitted to Heaven.

No ,Maybe this will help you! you have to believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins Ask jesus into your life then confess that you have sined and ask for forgiveness for your sins and repent. Trun away from what you have done and trust in God. Live your life through Crist our Lord and savior, for he is the way. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son , that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16-But also belive in him and live your life through him , just saying won't get you there.

We are saved by grace through faith and not of works, it is a gift of God; not of works lest any man should boast. Jesus said, "He that believeth in me has everlasting life". He who has the Son has life. He who does not have the Son of God does not have life, but the wrath of God abides on him. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. And this is the testimony; that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
Those are just a few verse that answer your question quite clearly and plainly. No works you can perform will save you from eternal damnation. No amount of tithing, participation in the sacraments, nothing-nil zilch nada, zero. You can not work or earn your way into heaven. God isn't like an earthly judge which can be bribed. God is holy and no respecter of persons. Our righteousness is like filthy rags in His sight. The only way you can be guaranteed eternal life in heaven with God is through Jesus Christ. As Jesus said Himself, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." And yes, it can be and is guaranteed if you follow God's plan of salvation. The Bible is equally clear on this point.
Once you've been saved and have this guarantee, as evidenced by the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life, then a Christian perfoms good works out of love for and in obedience to God and out of love and compassion for your fellow man.
