I asked this last night and got wonderful responses. I'm asking again because different R&Sers show up at different times of day.

What object -- a *tangible* item -- has deep spiritual significance to you? Why?

Preacher -- you did *not* answer my "question quite well." An object of spiritual value is not necessarily an idol -- you *own* a bible, but you do not worship it.

My Torah obviously but outside of that I'd have to say my Tallit (aka prayer shawl) I love pulling it over my head and blocking everything out when I pray.

My bible. I can read it and find whatever I need within it's pages and the Word it contains. My children are also of deep religious and spiritual significance to me. God gave them to me to raise and trusted me with His own perfection to mold and shape into the wonderful people I know they will become.

My bible. It is the word of God. It never ceases and has been applicable in every situation in my life. Other objects of religion are only that, objects. They are not what we should follow nor are they lasting. Nothing in print or otherwise has lasted like the word of God and never will.

Exodus 20: 4-5 "You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the 3rd and 4th generations of those who hate Me."

I think that answers your question quite well!

My spirituality is not tangible. It is based on faith. And faith is the proof of things unseen. Sorry, but that is just the way I see it. I do have a picture of my deceased fiance which hold great sentimental value for me, but not spiritual.

Hi. My bible is the one thing that I have that I know has spiritual significance. All other such possesions are either spiritual or otherwise intangible.

This vessel, this body I am in. It is the only actual tangible "thing" that holds me in this reality. Being in this vessel has taught me everything I know in this present moment.
