It's been so bent and twisted that it is essentially meaningless now except as parables and stories. Some of the stories of the Bible are good and entertaining, but that's all I really see in them.

Never ! I believe the Bible to be divinely inspired. That said, every word is true, God wouldn't let it exist any other way. Now all have a different interpretation of it, parables are just that and so forth.A lot of The Bible are known as Mysteries or Tensions, Man is not meant to correctly interpret them until the appointed time.

The more appropriate question is: "How much are you willing to distort your perception of reality to make it fit "God's Word"?

It doesn't need "bending." New Testament principles are still applicable today. (We live in the age of grace and not under the Old Testament Law.)

that statement is an oxymoron in itself.
your question should be....how much are you willing to bend god's word to make it fit "your own" reality????

I don't and I won't, reality is to conform to God's Word not the other way around.

Not at all, if you do you will surely pay for it... do not change it for any reason at all.do not add to it, or take away from it, stand up for the truth. The WORD OF GOD IS PERFECT.

So I guess you are 100% sure that hell isn't real? Since you've never been there?
