No, But it makes ME a better person

Even within religion, there are different levels of attainment, or betterment. We all try to become perfect, but let me give you a thought. There are two glasses of different sizes. Both are full. Which one is fullest?

If a vessel is leaky, it is no longer good for holding God's graces, so its a good idea to go in for your "maintenance" before your condition becomes irreversible. In this way, I suppose there are "better" and "worse". But I don't think that being religious should be used as a battering ram against those who know little or nothing. In that case, it would be best to take care of those, as if they were your little brothers and sisters. (I mean, even old people can be little kids in that instance)

However, (caution!Hot!) the higher you are, the farther you have to fall.

That is very relative. Religion can be satanism, and make you behave worse.
Religion does not make anyone better, but it DOES make some people behave better. Regardless of the reasons, or the credo, a religion can prevent someone from doing many wrong things beacuse of fear, convition of divinity or any other reason...
Unfortunately religion (to the extreme) can also make someone do evil. So no, it does not make anyone better, it makes many behave better.
Only a true spiritual change (through Jesus Christ's sacrifice) will change you... but that is not religion, it is a personal, intimate commitment to a relationship with God. Religion would be the practice of the "rulings", conviction is what changes you internally.

No. I may be better than others in some ways, but my choice in religion does not make that automatic.

Yes.

It goes without saying.
My beliefs have freed me from society-imposed limitations that other mortals merely kow-tow to... I am not afraid... and because I don't fear death, I am better able to take the necessary risks to improve my quality of life while I still have it.

So yes.... I am better than other people.
Of course my being of the beliefs I am isn't the whole of it. My being Aspergian also makes me superior to Neurotypicals in general. My being well-educated makes me better than clueless idiots.
Most importantly... as far as I'm concerned, I am essentially the protagonist of this existence.... the Universe is my plaything until I die... and most people are just irrelevant NPCs... decoration.

I know what works for me though. I am better than other individuals, but the full weight of society would crush me if it wanted to. I do what is best for my own life in all circumstances, and try to play the game several moves in advance of the present... I reserve my true arrogance for situations that won't drastically tip my appreciation of existence.

Religion / belief / whatever aside.... I just AM better than other people.... and thats the end of it.

[My ego is significantly greater than theirs also.]

No...I do not even like the word religion. It is more a relationship with my God...Lord knows I am not good. I am not worthy of His grace. We do not get saved because we are good, we get saved only by the mercy and grace of God...and we accept it...and we recognize the Mercy Giver.

Sometimes I am better than other times...knowing God makes me to strive to be a better person, but I compare myself only to Christ who is perfect...so that humbles me.

My religion has made me a better person than myself (no comparison with others)

Depends on who the other person is. I know a few people who are better then me, and I know a few people that I'm better then.

Not at all. People are defined by themselves as opposed to their religions.
