until he feels like someone better has come along, he'll probably dwell on it for a while. If he really had feelings for the girl, that's a permanent scar to the heart, he can't erase it or heal it, he has to have someone that will make him forget her. If you are thinking of a relationship with this guy, don't bring the issue up too soon, but tell him that you would like to be treated with a whole new beginning, that you want him to put aside all things that are in the past, and you want a fresh start. You don't want the actions of someone else pinned back on you. And hopefully, he'll be so happy with you that he'll forget that he ever hurt for that girl in his past.

No i don't think that's weird that just means he really loved her and is still having trouble to get over her, but tell him what you think and maybe you can help him get over her, be a close friend to him and he will forget about her faster....if you like him you should tell him not to dwell on the past and that there are other girls that are interested in having a relationship with him.

Guys try to solve problems.
Looking back could be seen as odd, but in reality he's not necessarily 'not over it' but ciphering through the problems and voicing out (unknowingly) what he doesn't want to have happen all over again.
Women do it but claim to not do it. They drop hints or suggestions while men come right out and say it out-loud without screening or thinking about what they're saying.
However if the guy has women hitting on him and he reverts to ignoring them and still talks about his former girlfriend, then yes he probably isn't over it.

It's weird because he's still hung up over her and has feelings for her probably imagining that someday they'll get back together. Some people get too attached in their fantasy worlds....never get romantically involved with them for they'll only cause you frustration.
