I follow nascar and motorsports in general and I have never heard any conspiracy theories surrounding Dale Sr's death. However, I have heard conspiracy theories about Aryton Senna's death in Formula 1. Wikipedia has some information on this and google, etc may give you some more info. I am interested in other non-racing related conspiracies and the ones surrounding Senna are vague at best.
An easy paper topic may be the Freemasons or Yale's Skull and Bones or the Council on Foreign Relations. Wikipedia can give you a wealth of information on these in fractions of a second.

RE:
What are the conspiracy theories surrounding Dale Earnhardt's death?
First let me say I mean this with no disrespect. I am writing a paper on conspiracy theories and American popular culture and someone suggested I look into this but I don't know much about NASCAR except for the names of a couple drivers. Thanks for any help you can offer

There aren't any conspiracy theories surrounding Dale Sr's death. He lost his life on the last lap of the 2001 Daytona 500. He was not wearing a HANS device, which is now a requirement.

There are no conspiracy theories on this matter. Try looking into the conspiracy theories surrounding JFK's death.

Dale sr 1st ran the monty carlo goodwrench/oreo car in 1998 i believe.. I also believe that oreo was one of his smaller sponsors with only a smaller sticker somewhere. Probably on side wheel fender.. I can't help but ask WHY are u interested...u mention a death conspiracy....Does driving that oreo car mean anything really? Interested to hear your thoughts...

The only theory I heard during all of that was they were trying to claim that his Simpson brand seatbelt broke. But that's pretty much it...it was obvious what happened and how he died, no conspiracy theories.

The only thing I've ever heard was that his seatbelt broke and the company that made it was willing to pay mucho dinero to not let it out what brand he used or something dumb like that. As far as looking for WMDs in Iraq, don't forget to look up the satellite photos of rig after rig going into Iran and Syria before we ever stepped foot on Iraqi soil.

I don't believe there is a conspiracy, racing is a dangerous sport, they all know it and simply his time was up.
