I've seen a lot of Christians take verses out of the Bible and insist that they are "prophecy"... but they're one of the following.

1. Prediction of something that's either very likely or inevitable.
2. Prediction of something that happens later in the same book.
3. Completely wrong, out of context, or contradictory to reality.
4. Prediction of something that happens in another book, but in the context of the author having literary access to the prophecy referenced.

None of these things qualify as "prophecy". Prophecy is a unique prediction, the event happening on its own without "help" from those who know the prophecy beforehand.

Most prophesies of men are vague and prove nothing other than if you make 100 of them some will come close. However, when you study bible prophesy then you are 100% on target every time. Every bible prophecy that had been prophesied has either taken place, is taking place right now or will take place. Remember one thing, bible prophecy is very deep and requires a substancial amount of understanding of the bible and God's holy spirit in order for it to be understood. No matter how bright or wise a person might think he is in his own eyes, if his heart is not in the right condition that person can read about prophesies all the days of his life and he will never understand anything unless he is in the right heart condition.....KECK...Proverbs 1-9 will give you a clue as to what I have just said, but there are countless scriptures that also hit the spot

Seeing as people have thought the world to be near the end for the last 2000 years and have been wrong each time, I would say no.

And if they are proof of anything, perhaps Nostradamus should have his own following.

Vague ones prove nothing. But there are some which have become history. God is real. Search him out. You'll find him. Otherwise, he'll always be a fool's fallacy to your way of thinking. In the end, the choice is your's, ain't it ?

lol, No. That is why even though I am interested in astrology and the Tarot, I do not take their results as revelations. Both astrology and Tarot do work, but it is foolish to base your life around their prophecies--or the prophecies of others!

Prophesies are inaccurate because they can be interpereted and twisted to fit anyone's particular beliefs.

That depends on who made them. The prophecies in the Bible have either come true, or continue to. Nostradamus' not so much so. Others always feel free to "prophecy" but they are as a empty can, just full of noise. God bless.
