Ideally never - the rescue centres are full of poor unwanted staffies looking for a good home. So many of the problems we see with dogs arise from over breeding. Rant over!

never. They are one of the most common breeds in rescue centres, even young pups end up in rescue. Rescue kennels all over the UK are full of unwanted staffies. Why add to the problem?
I think some people are confused on here as the question was about staffordshire bull terriers, NOT pit bull terriers.

If your dog is ***** and kc registered you can not breed her until shes at least 2 and she should not be breed with after 6. You also should wait 2 years between litters so the ***** can get back into good shape. Bitches would not be developed enough until there 2 taking a litter out of her earlier could ruin her. If its a boy it doesn't matter but you should wait until the dogs fully developed so you can see if he's a good example of the breed. You should only breed from to good dogs that will benefit the breed not to muts so you can line your pockets.

I adopted a staffordshire bull terrier from a shelter and he is fantastic. Wait until they are at least a 1 year and a 1/2 to 2 years. If you breed before the mother is mature enough she won't take of them properly. Check with a vet once she reaches the age you would like to breed her just to be sure.

NEVER! Don't, please do not. Pit bulls are GREAT dogs and make GREAT pets...for the PERFECT pet owner. The problem is that there are way too many idiots in the world that don't know how to care for this breed. There are already too many of them out there and put down every year. Why do you want to breed pits? There are many other breeds. If you are in it for the money, there are lots of other breeds. If you are in it for the love of animals, you wouldn't be thinking about this breed.
There is a great need for good pure breeds, adoption is not an option for everyone. But please stay way from the pit.
Thank you!

a friend of mine bred his age 21 and still continues now at 26 but as he would say it is not easy and costs alot of money.make sure the parents are both sound examples of the breed and check for any health problems which means the parents and the pups once born.a ***** should not be mated untill at least 2yrs old and the same for a male.

dont, you would not believe how many staffordshire bull terriers come into the rescue centre i work at, and its impossible to get homes for them as the majority of them have gone to the wrong homes and have a lot of behavioural problems. would you really want unwanted puppies on your conscience?

When you have a breed that is difficult to place, it's reasonable to try to limit the population. Realizing that many landlords and insurance companies will not cover you for these types of dogs, it makes it more difficult to sell and/or place them.
Before you make the decision to breed your dog, please take a trip to your local animal shelter. Look into the eyes of the unadoptable dogs....ones that most likely will be euthanized because of safety and insurance concerns.
Please don't breed your dog!

no dog should be breed before their third season that should make them around 18mths old then they are mature enough to be a good mom to the pups so you mate them in their third season
