a short, wide glass....and yes you can, but you'll just need to add more of everything if it's a larger glass or less if it's a smaller one (use a rock's glass...)

A rocks or old-fashioned glass holds 8 to 10 oz of liquid. A double-old fashioned glass holds about 14 oz. It is used to serve drinks "on the rocks" or chilled shots that contain juices.
If you are at home and want a larger drink then use a bigger glass but it is supposed to be served in a "rocks" glass.

It is a short glass (not Plastic)how uncool is that.Approximately 6 to 8 oz glass.normally filled to the brim with crushed or small ice cubes.liquor is than poured over it. You will be surprised how 1 0z of liquor looks like done this way. that is how bartenders gets the tips, looks like your getting more booze than you really are, Baileys always taste better cold anyway.

absolutely. you can use plastic if you want.
a rocks glass is made for scotch or whisk(e)y to have on the rocks. (ice)
its short and wide (so you can smell the booze as you drink it)
