Hmmm. I would make it about something in the environement. I don't know how you associate with this girl, but if she's in a class you both share, try poking fun at the text book. If you just see her in a place you hang out, like a coffee shop, be a little silly with something they sell like a specialized mug or other type of utensil. Keep doing it until she smiles. When she smiles, celebrate it with a little comment like "There's that smile I've been waiting on," and she'll know the antics were about her, which is a big compliment.

If she just gets annoyed with the antics, then point blank dare her to smile. And then grin huge. Keep daring her to smile until she does.

I say all of this because it worked on me ; )

Just be yourself. Flirting is a 2 way process so just start talking to her and joking with her. Don't bring up anything sexual (not that I think you would) and dont be aggressivley trying to make it happen just go with it. Ask her how her day was and if she says fine say something like "just fine, what wasn't fantastic about it?" It'll spark a conversation and you are still being yourself. If you start to lose yourself go back to talking about something you really like.

flatter her with compliments...coupled with good conversation it will help you get to know each other and also let her know that you like her
