Take a small glass of water, place a paper napkin or paper towel over the glass of water, sip the water through the napkin or towel. Usually within the first two or three sips the hiccups disappear and they do not return for some time.

What I have always done is fill a glass up with water ( 10oz.)
Put a paper towel over the top of the glass. Get someone to hold your nose (or not) and drink all of the water through the paper towel (without stopping).
It has worked every time for me.
Good luck.

When I was in 3rd grade my teacher would make you stand in front of the class and tell you to hiccup .They would go away immediately. Or a spoon full of peanut butter works also.

I always try water first. If that doesn't work, a spoonful of peanut butter makes mine go away.
