LOL "Alanis Morrisette" too funny. If there was a god, I think it would make more sense that it would be female, since creation was it's biggest accomplishment, right? Most people think of their idea of god as male because the bible tells them so. That's the reason for alot of their beliefs. In most cultures women are looked at as inferior to men in one way or another. It sucks, and it's slowly changing to be more equal here in America. But there is still a long way to go. Girl power!!! LOL

it's all throught the Bible. God I'm sure looks human because he made Adam in his own image.

Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

There are so many more, but I don't want to use up all of the room.

God is niether male nor female, God is God, but saying He is better then saying It, also God the Father, God the Son, both masculine, however God the Holy Spirit demonstrates femine characteristics, Jesus is a male not a female, but thankfully the sex of God is irrelivent all that matters is that we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and that He is the only way to heaven.

IF you actually believe what your saying, think about it. It's silly.
I could argue with you, but teaching is not argueing, and that is what I do.
God is refered to as the Father. Jesus as the son. Holy spirit as God's active force similar to electricity.
If you must think of God as a woman, where did the seed come from?

I don't even think we can conceptualize what lords over existence, especially, in view of our record, thinking that whatever it is is indeed human is an inherent flaw in civilization.
Never mind male or female, jew, christian or muslim.......

Gods are human inventions so choose any one you like but in the end the value of existence is the determining factor in our ongoing participation assuming of course that the concept of any god suggests life beyond our perceptions.

The english language assigns gender to beings. It would be inappropriate in terms of the language to call god "It". Personally, I think god transcends gender, but we lack the language to describe a being that is genderless.

Gotta admit, I love Dogma, hilarious movie! I don't really think God is male or female, so So I'll stick with He untill I can come up with something better.

Because that is how God introduced Himself to us in the Bible. In Hebrew, there were masculine and femine forms of words. God introduced Himself to mankind using the masculine PLURAL forms.

Probably because the male descrpitive has always been used. As in "Father". But who knows. In time we'll all see.
