Congratulations! I'm really glad you're thinking about becoming a Seventh-day Adventist. I am a SDA too.

The main focus of the Sabbath is to spend quality time with God. That's the purpose of the Sabbath day. That's the reason why it was created. It's not a day to be boring, it's a special day; you're spending an entire day with your best Friend, make it fun! Sabbath is my favourite day, honestly.

You may go to these websites:

Even so, if you have any question, please, feel free to ask me. I'll be glad to help. Once more, congratulations for the great decision you're making. May God guide you always.

God bless you!

I spend the day reading the Bible, contemplating my life, doing as little work as possible. There are usually some informative TV "religious" programs on later in the day. I don't like sports, so I don't watch anything during the day. The Sabbath is a day a rest, and that is what I do. Sort of tune out from the world, and into God's word. Numbers 6:24 Of course, as a SDA you would do this on Saturdays. :-)

I would do some more research before becoming an SDA. Many of their teachings are false. Their dietary laws are not needed and how they view Jesus is unscriptural.
Find yourself a good NON DENOMINTIONAL church in your area that teaches from the BIBLE ONLY.

To those who think the Sabbath is not for today, and has been "done away with'. Which of the other 10 Commandments has been done away with? Which of the others would you feel comfortable violating?
Jesus did away with the law, not the LAW.

First you get a magnifying glass, then you watch it real close and if the sabbath does tricks, you spread the word. Only teasing of, course. For myself, we take the day to reflect on the week finished and decide what we will do the following week. It is a time to worship God and thank Him for all that he has Given and to rest in general as is right and proper. However, if something is pressing that needs to be done, we do it since that is what Jesus would have done.

the sabbath is an old testament law, there is nothing that says that were are to observe this law after Jesus came to reform the law. Read through the NT and note the things that Jesus said are commands, these are the things that you need to observe.

The Sabbath is not binding on Christians. It was done away with when Jesus died.

read romans 14:5, dear

it says one man reveres one day above another, another reveres them all the same

let every believer be convinced in his own mind
