something would have to drive the nation completely apart, to the point of hatred of even discussing it. i can't see anything like that happening anytime in the next few centuries.

There is almost no chance that another civil war could be fought due to the way our military is structured today. Anyone who tryed to rise up against the government would get crushed if it did escalate to an actual war. Not to mention that before that could happen you would be arrested just like many "militias" do today.

Yes, I do see that possibility.

I for one am a conservative and see that parts of society thanks to liberals, is moving in a direction I do not want and the libs are wanting to pass laws that I DO NOT BELIEVE IN. I shouldn't have to live under that, just as they should not have live under my rules. It is an either or proposition.

Libs believe in Gun control, I do not

Libs believe in the unrestriced right to an abortion, I do not

Libs believe in using stem cells, I do not

Gay marriage

et cetera et cetera.

I doubt we will FIGHT, like what happened in the War between the States, but I believe that there could be a split. I am sure that the two would have unusually close ties, maybe with a confederation type agreement...

But I do not see HOW you can compromise or reconcile many of the points that we have in society today... Everyone looses...

Extremely unlikely; like, almost 0%.

The President would call for Martial Law before that happened or at least he'd call the National Guard out to stomp any movement that occurs.

absolutely none.. why would we.. what would we be fighting for.. during our one civil war it was because the South was trying to succeed from the US- I am pretty sure, most Americans enjoy their way of life, are proud of their country and don't want to fight the rest of the Americans- so what would our civil war be about??

There will be another civil war and the cause will be Illegal Immigration. If the American government doesn't start representing it's people and not corporate America.
If they don't put a stop to this invaders then yes I believe there will be another civil war.

Seeing as how a newly elected congressmen from Minnisota will have to take the oath of office with his hand on the Koran, I think the war has started already. It is a war of culture and the one we know better wake up!
