This one is going to be difficult, so let's see if I can help.
First, your ex. Now, I take it he's your ex for a reason. Ask yourself, is there a chance for a relationship with him? And, if there is, would things end up differently if you two got back together? If you answered "no" to either question, then rule him out.
Second, your guy friend. This is even trickier because if you do chose to pursue a relationship with him, it could end up being either being the best thing you ever had, or ending your friendship. Does he feel the same about you? If he does, then you may lose him if you don't date him.

it all depends on the situation. there was a reason for this person being your "ex" right? do you really want to start that up again? do you want to risk the friendship with your guy friend? just go with your gut, it'll usually take care of you.
