i am a huge fan of this theory. just like the old saying "if you love something let it go. if it never comes back it wasn't meant to be but if it does come back, love it forever". go with your first instinct. it's usually the correct course in action.

That is a very risky thing to do,because chances are you will never see him again. But, you must have doubts about the relationship to even think of breaking up with him and experience something new, so you probably should let him go, you could be missing out on someone that you won't have a doubt about.

Let him go. Not sure how old you are but my rule is being together for 3.5 years is WAY TOO LONG to be together without having gotten married. I'd say that if you are dating someone for a year and you don't see yourself getting married within another year, you are wasting each other's time. All this assuming that you want to be married. Time marches on. Everyone gets older. Everyone gets set in their ways. The time you waste with the wrong one allows for the right one to pass you by.

What does he think? There is always the chance of losing someone but it does sound as if you think hes the love of your life if you want to end it a find something new(even if it's just for a while)You can't have your cake and eat it too.

girl if you let him go he will go and wont come back. i dont want to be mean or any thing but you sound kind of selfish. ask him what he wants and if he wants to break up you should. i he dousnt then tell him how you feel. if you have doubts in your head it means that it not going to work out. wish you the best of luck!

I think that it is a good plan. If it was meant to be, you will cross paths again.

I DO NOT THINK THIS CAN BE THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE IF YOU WANT OTHER RELATIONSHIPS, MAYBE YOU ARE JUST A BIT BORED,AFTER BEING TOGETHER SO LONG,DOSE YOUR PARTNER FEEL THE SAME AS YOU DO? I DO NOT THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA, AS YOU MAY LOSE EACH OTHER FOR EVER.

Sorry, but this is a horrible plan. If you love him and want to be with him, stay with him. If you want to experience other men, then leave him and don't plan on returning.

well its hard to tell, it depends on the feelings for each other. my first love, broke up, and then we reunited yrs later. well then we broke up again. but its just a risk if you are willing to take.
