Your question is a little confusing because you state you want to become an American citizen and then continue going to school. You can apply for a student visa to come to America and go to graduate school for your doctorate.
If you want to become an American Citizen you can look into getting into the diversity lottery for immigration, which is probably the quickest way. You could find someone who wanted to marry you and become either a spouse of fiance and come to America through a K1 (fiance) or K3 (Dependent) Visa.
The hardest thing is getting here and there is a great deal more information you can access at the uscis.gov website regarding immigration. In the end, it all depends on who interviews you for your visa to come here. I home you get someone who does their job and does not interject personal bias into the formula.

I would say first look into some schools in an area you might be interested which you are interested in living. After you are accepted to schools, you can apply for a student visa. After you complete your education here, you look for permanent resident sponsorship, and then be on your way to citizenship.
P.S. - Don't let the xenophobes get you down. We could use more educated people to tip the scales.

I was in the same shoes as you 3 years ago, I am from cuba and it took me 4 month to float over here in a innertube. I tried 3 times before that and got turned around by the national guard. But I got here, so my advice is to build a boat and sail over here just as christophere columbous did. You can do it my brotha ... best of luck!

First of all, don't ask people on this forum if you're serious about getting valid answers. Contact the US Embassy there. We're always welcoming to people who genuinely want to become Americans.

Sure you can apply but just wait until Bush is out of power because of his white supremacy-evangelistic-Neocon behavior. By the way ignore those air heads like "rives". He didnt realize that you were being sincere and was only asking for info. He thinks you are wanting to come here Illegally. To be honest with you America is not the greatest land of opportunity and is not so grand as what you think. You are welcomed to vist and live here but their is much nicer places that offer free healthcare and have a better education system than our own.
