Never send cash. Why would you want to do this? In an age of electronic transfers, western union, paper checks (in a worst case), and paypal why are you sending cash?

It probably won't get stolen by the postman, but going through thousands to millions of letters a day, it's always possible that a letter gets lost or slips through the cracks.

I don't recommend it.

I send cash regularly, just 10 or 20 pounds. This has never got lost but it is not too serious if it did. what I do is fold the note up and enclose it in paper, sellotaped to the inside of a greetings card.

If it is more than this, the safest way to give money is to pay it into the bank quoting the receiver's bank details.

It is not safe to send cash in the post anywhere. If it`s not the postman then it could be anyone who handles the post who would take it.
