What's the best way to train?

I would like to know everyone's ideas on ways to house break my puppy. Thanks for your help!!

Take the pup outside frequently. Take the pup to the same spot each time so that his scent is there to hint at what he should do. Give him lots of praise and a small treat when he eliminates outside.

When indoors he should be supervised or confined. Prevent as many accidents as you can so that he doesn't get into the habit of eliminating inside.

If you do happen to catch the pup starting to pee or poop, say "nope" or "ack!" to stop him, then rush him outside to finish. If he has an accident and you did not see it happen, do not punish him. He will not understand that he is getting in trouble for something that he did in the past.

It takes many months to housetrain a pup - hang in there!

He's right - the best way to housebreak a puppy is take him outside at regular times every day. Take him out 45 minutes after he eats, and every 90 minutes after that.

I hung a little bell by my door at doggie level and rang it every time I took my pup out - now he rings the bell to let me know when he needs to go - it's easy to do, and you can hear the bell from almost anywhere in the house!

crate train. a dog will not enjoy sleeping in its own mess, so after a day or 2 it won't mess up its crate. but to prevent UTI's, because a puppies bladder isn't developed yet, you or a friend should take the puppy outside every couple of hours.

whoop them whenenver they pee point to the spot and get newspaper and hit their nose with it say this is a no no
