Hi, the Champdogs site lists breeders by area & there are some breeders of Long Coat Chihuahuas in Ireland ... though I couldn't see any puppies listed as currently for sale ... however, if you contact one/some of the breeders then they might be able to help or put you on a waiting list. I think that advertisers on Champdogs are generally people who also show their dogs so the puppy should be registered/have all papers.

The other site to try is the ePupz site - you can search for breed, puppies or dogs, rescue dogs, etc. by county & it does include Northern Ireland - though you'll have to scroll through to look for Long Coat / long haired:
http://www.epupz.co.uk/index.asp
ePupz also has an Ireland site:
http://www.ie.epupz.com/index.asp?
To get any breeder/puppy sales contact information on ePupz you will need to register. I think that it is free & there is also the facility to select to be emailed when a advert that matches your criteria is placed.
You could also try the UK Kennel Club site - they give advice on buying a puppy, where not to buy a puppy, etc. & have a puppy register ... I think the puppies listed are from those on the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder scheme:
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/436
I couldn't find anything similar on the Irish Kennel Club's website - though they do list Irish Clubs - perhaps if you contact a relevant Club secretary he or she might be able to supply you with a list of responsible breeders.

Hope that this helps a little

Looking for a reputable breeder would be your best option. Check with your vet who can recommend a breeder in your area. You need to check out the environment first hand, this isn't a purchase you can make over the internet if you want to be responsible and well informed about the animal's lineage and temperment.
Incidently, I own a chi/italian greyhound I adopted from our animal shelter -- who cares about papers, this dog is adorable. So for the yahoo that posted above me that they are yippy or whatever, get a clue and don't generalize. Let me know what breed you are and I can throw out some stereotypes too.

WHEN I WAS LOOKING FOR MINE I RANG ALL THE LOCAL VETS, LOCAL PAPER, THE CHIHUAHUA CLUB, AND MANY SEARCHS ON THE NET, AD-MART, EPUZ. ETC. DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PAPERS ARE IMPORTANT, UNLESS YOU ARE BREEDING OR SHOWING IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. I HAD A LITTER EARLIER THIS YEAR AND SHE HAD BEAUTIFUL PUPPIES, MUM IS A LONG COAT CHIHUAHUA AND DAD WAS A POMERANIAN, HAVE A LOOK AT MY 360 FOR PICTURES THEY ARE WONDERFUL AND WONT COST YOU SO MUCH MONEY! IGNORE THE SILLY ANSWER THEY ARE NOT SNAPPY ETC, THEY ARE A VERY LOVING DOG, I SHOULD NO I HAVE 5. GOOD LUCK WITH YOU SEARCH.

They are a one person dog , 99.7% of them are very mean dogs and snappy! They are possessive dogs!
