When I was 27 I got depressed over turning 30. Now that I'm 35, I'm back to depressed over the fact that 40 is just a blink of an eye away. It's something I know is going to happen to me and something that is unavoidable. Getting older happens, whether we like it or not. All you can do is stop fretting over it. Besides growing older isn't all that bad, trust me. And even though I'm 35, I'm pleased as all get out that 30 is the "new 20".....lol.

Ready or not it's going to happen. Actually with age comes alot of wisdom and experiences that we learn from to make us better people. Also, the older you get, the less you worry about the small stuff and other peoples opinions. It's also better than the alternative. Age is a number and a state of mind. You'll only get old if you allow yourself to.

By continuing to look forward and resist the urge to spend too much time looking back.

Unless you mean, older as in entering your teenage years and are not prepared for the responsability. In that case you better get ready because it's coming.

I cried when I turned 30, and a good friend told me there isnt a darn thing you can do, so accept it, I am now 48, and look into the mirror and say "who the Hell are you???" I am trying to enjoy my life and I have to remember all those cute little 20 year olds will be in my shoes some day, it happens to us all!!! Thats part of life.

Growing older is a good thing when you consider the alternative-death.

You could start by spellng 'lookin' right on your display name....that will help a little! There is nothing you can do! Be happy you are growing older since you can't stop it! You are wiser and have lots of experience under your belt.

Me, too!! I may be getting older, but I refuse to act like it. I try to have fun, do silly things-I wear blue bunny ears when I am at home and remembered that I love to wear hats. I enjoy my life, my kids, my grandkids and my GUY!! I am going back to school to do what I love, ART. Life is short and I am going to do what I want to. I am getting gray hair and I have earned every single one of them. They make a silver crown on the top of my head (looks beautiful with my blue bunny ears).

Just try to take one day at a time. Create little things for yourself to look forward to each week instead of dreading getting older. It will give you something to hope for instead of feel sad about.

You can't stop time. Everyone grows older. That's life and you just have to accept it.
