yes there are people that care greatly like Greenpeace but most of us will just wait and see and let time pass. because it is unlikely that it will happen in our life time too much to matter.

Actually, the Australlian government has a good rep. regarding ecological matters. Do not judge an entire country on what you observe a small handful of people doing. there are many australians who are very involved and concerned about the enivironment. the same is true here in the US, parts of this country do very well with ecological issues, some do horrible. All you or anyone can do is to do the best you can to do what you can for environment and find ways to gently educate others as to long or even short-term effects of not caring for this earth. If you want to meet some environmentally-friendly australians, go visit some Aborigines...they know and understand mother earth.

It's such a shame that people don't seem to take the issue of the environment seriously when it is of paramount importance! Unfortunately, I think sometimes that people are too lazy and comfortable with their own lifestyle to change to more environmentally friendly ways, which is a poor excuse because small actions like washing your clothes at 30 degrees, using energy saving light bulbs, turning equipment off and not leaving it on stand-by, boiling only the water you need in the kettle, etc can actually make a difference and aren't going to inconvenience people.
I just hope that we can all get our acts together and make significant changes before we loose our chance to repair the damage we have done.

it is basically that people don't care.. they wait for someone else to do it for them.
If thye were made pay the true costs for everything they do tey would soon stop.
for example ifwhen they bought a car they had to pay for the costs of restoring the land where the materials for the car came from. and also when the came to get rid the car they had to pay
for correct disposal and recycling then they wouldn't be so quick to change the car every time a new model comes out.
the same is true for everything we by. the manufactures make thing so that the will break, or go out of style, very quickly just so that we will by more.
if all product that we by had to be kept for a minimun period of time ( say 10 years ) then this would force manufacturs to improve the products life time.
well thats enough of a rant.

Yes I believe that someday we will learn that all of our environmental abuse is hurting us. Right now we are trying to stop hurting the ozone. The only problem is that we can't fix everything in one day, we have to do it in small steps like recycling and not polluting so much. We have to step into the real world and learn that we have to take care of where we live because if we keep treating it like this there will be no place for us to live.

Because as humans we are naturally small minded and most people lack the intelligence to see the harm their actions are causing.
We will only change our ways when the last rainforest tree is felled and by then it will be too late.
Some people do genuinely care about the environment but those people are still in a minority.

I know my family try as much as they can . We recycle everything and i mean everything we can. We rarely use a car .. which is a small one anyway and doesnt gussle that much fuel. We have solar panels on the roof. My brother works at a climbing wall where they are getting either solar panels or wind turbines on the roof to power it they also recycle everything.
But thats only one family and we aint gonna stop the climate change really are we... just makes us feel less guilty i guess

I care about the environment. I walk to shops when possible, recycle as much as possible. I also use public transport when I have to go further afield. I agree with you that not enough people care about the environment, ARE THEY BLIND ??? Can't they see the consequences of what they're doing, it's all around us every day in the weather etc.

The problem is that the people on the environmental side want it all. It's not enough that we recycle, create lower and lower pollution every year, and do conserve some.
You want everyone to live life the way that YOU think is best. Unless you're living in a cave out in the woods, you are also responsible for creating waste and pollution. Lighten up.

See, everyone has that mentality that "oh ill leave it for the rest to be conservative, if i waste resources its ok since im the only one"
But it seems like everyone is thinking like this.
Just imagine if everyone thought of being conservative!
