I drive a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo 4x4 and it started skipping so I changed all but one plug because it seemed to be cross threaded and I changed the wires. Now it seems as if it has not get up and go. I do not have any leaks and I am not low in transmission fluid or anything like that. Do you think that it could be time to change the transmission fluid and filter? What else could be causing this problem? Has anyone had a problem with the windows? The back driver's side window just stopped working and everything has been checked...it is not the switch and not the motor...any clue? My alarm system no longer seems to be working...could this be caused by a fuse? All my car problems seemed to have started around the same time. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In the past year and a half the jeep now has a new alternator, water pump, radiator, fuel pump, power steering pump, and thermostat.

Assuming that the parts you changed were done correctly and that they are good quality and not the "cheap stuff" I would check the alternator. These Jeeps are common with alternator troubles. What will happen is that they will charge the battery, but not full voltage and if the computer gets low enough voltage will cause the engine to misfire and run sluggish. Unlike most cars you can often drive a good ways with that alternator like that where as most cars will simply not charge and fail to crank, etc. Something about the computer on those that doesn't like low voltages. Don't trust tthe dash guage to show the right volts. Use a real volt meter on the battery to make sure that you are getting 14.3 volts when the engine is running and the alternator is supposed to be charging. Also cables and bad grounds can do this as well. All that said there is still things like dirty fuel injectors, fuel filter, and a host of other items that can cause similar troubles.

I am afraid to tell you that the 1993-1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee's are loaded with major electrical issues. When Chrysler changed to the ZJ body(Grand Cherokee) they had major problems with all sorts of things. The engine being the least. The engine problem sounds to me like a vacuum leak. If the plug you didn't change is cross treaded, you should get it replaced and repaired. Leaving in an old plug is just a ticking time bomb, so to speak. If you have never changed your transmission fluid since you owned the Jeep, do it as soon as you can. Good luck!!

I think your Power issue might be related to a Clogged Catalytic Exhaust. Your window issue seems very interesting. If the motor and switch are working. It must have a blocked window Guide or stuck from something. Did you take the door apart. sure sounds like a piece has fallen off. Sorry not good on Alarms.
