If you are looking thru the Western Provinces there is a train that starts in Winnipeg and goes all the way thru the Rockies.

If you are looking at anywhere in Western Canada and want to see something truely beautiful; take the train from Winnipeg up to Churchill Manitoba. Then you can see the polar bears on a tundra buggy tour and the northern lights and beluga whales. :)

I wouldn't bother with taking a train through the prarie provinces, you're just wasting your time and money. I would take a plane into Alberta, and then train it through the Rockies. Thats where all the real scenery is. If you want to go cross country, you would be better off driving.

Is the Rocky Mountaineer the one you're looking for?

Or Via Rail?
