Theres not only white. A lot use other colors.
Generally white is used for services like that because its easier to see that the fabric is clean and safe for use.

It's like a doctor's coat. You can see how clean it is. If there were stains, gunk, and germy stuff on it, you can see it. If the cloth wasn't white, you would not be able to see it. It's a cleanliness thing. I feel better knowing I can see what is touching my skin, or coming close to me!! I'd rather it be white so I can see it.

My Grandmother was a Beautician, all of her towels were white, so she could use bleach, to disinfect and clean them.

mostly because u can bleach white.. and bleach will disinfect it... so its easier to buy white ones that u can clean more thoroughly
