Every group you listed denies 'beliefs' and relies on evidence to announce truth.

There is no evidence that 'what goes around comes around'.

Therefore, you can assume that none of those 3 groups 'believes' that it does.

I know all 3 beliefs because they are short and sweet. Atheists don't believe in God; same with non-believers. These two groups tend to not 'believe' anything. Agnostics aren't sure about God, but tend to be skeptics, so would also not 'believe' anything.

Any rational person does not 'believe' in anything. It's only wishful thinking.

I don't 'believe' my nickname is Michael. I know it is. I can see direct evidence of it; when I post, it is under the name "Michael". When I look at 'My Q&A', it is titled under the name "Michael". There is direct evidence that my nickname is Michael, so thinking that is true is not a belief. Scientifically, it's a theory (supported by evidence).

Usually, but the catalyst is enlightenment. If the lesson is learned without the event turning around on the perpetrator, that's a better kind of karma. Although all karmic "punishment" is actually a gift - an opportunity to learn - balance is really achieved by wisdom and enlightenment, not by action = reaction, in my view.

Yes I do and for simple and everyday reasons as well as my own beliefs (yes as a person i can believe something without naming it god..like my belief in myself although i know i am not god..but I should be)

The world as we see it and experience it is a closed system. So if I do bad things then the bad things will just affect others negatively which will cause them to react negative which travels around and then back to me and the same with positive. Like a ripple in pond.

Also if I do damage then I hurt the system I live in which in long term does harm to me. If I do beneficial things then the system I live in will be better and hence it betters me in long term.

hey :}
i totally believe what comes around goes around i have seen it happen so many times in my life it is really fascinating .
as to the three groups ,,,agnostics may be ones that might believe that way as they are sort of like searchers .......non believers and atheiests believe in science and therefore i doubt they would think that the universe is all about energy and what gets sent out eventually comes back to you in a spiritual way .
the mind is the maker and when you send out positive you generally get it back same with negative energy .
and when someone does something bad to you directly most often if you can hold off on judgements or getting angry you will often see what comes around goes around but you have to be aware to see it .......and it may take time and it sort of frees you from feeling like you have to get even or do something yourself ,,,because they generally get what they deserve [and usually a lot worse then what they may have done to you ].

In the sense that you usually have to deal with what you cause, good and bad, yes. I don't believe in karma or anything mystical, though. I don't believe it is universal, just a trend. People frequently don't get punished for doing wrong or rewarded for doing right, by whoever's definition of wrong and right. As another poster said, crap happens.

However, I think it is important to maintain a good character. Your character is your outward expression to the people around you. It is the consistency with which you deal with people. If you screw people over, word gets around and that becomes part of your character. If you deal with people honestly, people catch onto that and it becomes part of your character. So, it is important to decide how you wish to appear to other people and to do so consistently. You do have some control over how people think about you and judge you.

Not in the sense that if I do something today, something later on down the line will occur directly from this action. As the saying goes, sh*t happens

Nope.

I believe that you are the only one in charge of your life, and you make it what it is.

If you are a horrible person, you are a horrible person. I know more cases of people that are good having bad times then bad people having bad times, so it doesn't help this idea.

It would be nice to believe that, but it certainly doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule. There's not shortage of assholes who repeatedly come out on top.
